hmmmmm…with THIS comment, now I AM suspicious…lack of REAL facts/knowledge…, misquotes or ignores posters’ positions and comments (and websites and organizations’ policies), rude, insulting statements that contradict…am starting to think this is just a gimmick poster…someone who just looks for an argument and throws in silly, inane statements to rile people up…there used to be one on an old arabian forum…had a couple of people he/she would attack no matter what the subject matter…a shadow poster…
I suggest we ignore…totally…
this IS an interesting subject…
Nope, ancient oaks - feather river USED to post with his name and farm in his sig line. Found an old post. Believe it or not, it’s not a troll!! (although you would think, eh? kinda reminds me of whenever a certain infamous SO and coke dealer comes on here and starts preaching about his “special relationships” with his poneez and puppeez… )

just amazing what some people will spend their time and energy doing…I wonder why the anonymous byline now???
I hate to see unwarranted disparaging remarks…healthy disagreement is one thing…but this guy…I still think it warrants ignoring any further comments by this person, so the OP can get the opinions they originally posted the thread to get…
Coming from left field, here, but I would assume that the market for an Anglo Arab stallion would depend on what his offspring can be registered as (his approvals) and how he and his family have performed.
Stallion promotion is a tough job and with many people owning (approved) TB mares, I can see that the more heavily marketed European WB lines would be an easier sell.
That said, the supply is far smaller of Anglos than Euro WB, and for those who appreciate their Arab traits vs. the WB, I can see an avid, though small, fan base.
I do feel that the perception out there is that the American breeding program in general is not at the level of the European contingent in most sport breds of any registry, sadly. So many will not pay the price for an American bred that they will for an import. And a large part of that is training and promotion.
You can change perception through public performance and ‘tooting your horn’. Again. And again. And again.
-To those who are ready to listen.
I was looking for something, and stumbled upon this old thread. Here are the SF papers.
Unfortunately I find in NA anything that relates even mildly to Arabians gets quickly overlooked due to the stereotypes surrounding the breed. If marketing to the endurance and Arabian loving world then an AA could work out - but I think it’s more for the casual/hobbyist and not something to build a business off of. Yes you will get some breedings to cover costs. No it’s not going to be a huge demand.
This is just how I view the current NA market reaction to AAs
But, in all honestly I could be wrong!
Also too the French Anglo-Arab is a breed that has been selected and bred for certain traits for generations. That is very different from an F1 cross between an Arab and a TB.
Old thread with long gone posters on it. I did not check to see if I posted the following back then, so if I repeat myself, I apologize:
There was once a French Anglo Arabian TB stud, yes that is what they called then sounds redundant but my warmblood books from europe say that. . He was pretty good at dressage competitions. You might know him better as the Oldenburg Inschallah. When he was bought by the burgermeister of Oldenburg, he was moved to Germany and was graded into the Oldenburg stud. You can check out his lineage on allbreedpedigree website.
He was Cloudy’s maternal great-grandsire. The French AA TB can also be an Oldenburg if he is admitted into the registry.
I disagree. I’m American and I bred a VERY nice Hanoverian mare to an AA. Granted I’m breeding for eventing. The AA sire that I bred to has a lovely pedigree (he’s by Primitive Rising) and was well proven in sport (competed up through Adv). He stands in the U.K. but has good quality frozen.
There is absolutely a market for a very good AA. It will not be huge but there is one. But it takes more than just being an AA…as it should. They need to be a quality horse and proven just like most sires.
Mill Law is not an Anglo Arab - but is a top event producer with the dash of Arabian in him. Something that would put
presence and soundness into a horse. 7/8 TB:1/8 Arabian.
