Attaching a pic. I don’t consider this to be a bold pattern, but also don’t want a stupid elimination! Thoughts?
It looks fine to me but ask the TD when you get there and bring a spare, just in case.
The shirt cannot have a “bold pattern” so depending on the TD, you may be OK but as mentioned, best to ask and have a backup.
The pattern doesn’t look bold to me but I bet there will be some disagreement about that. I’d hate to have an expensive show ruined if someone called it out.
I wouldn’t say it was bold either, but having had a TD tell me a shirt I thought was OK was not OK by her standards, I wouldn’t chance it.
I have that shirt and returned it because I took couldn’t decide if it was borderline too bold because of the contrast and the polka dots.
Personally I like the shirt - I would send the pic to USDF and get an official opinion - in an email - and if they are ok, you are ok.
Folks, they removed the “bold pattern” bit in the spring. I got it personally from Janine Malone TD extraordinaire. In her words, you can wear plaid if you want.
@atlatl, here is the 2023 version. https://www.usef.org/forms-pubs/sAH3nOVD85c/dressage-attire-equipment-booklet
Great news!
I do hunters. We don’t have a rule per se but I was hoping the shirt would be a little more subtle in person.
Wow! thx
Thanks…I heard that, but also find the rule isn’t clear because it says any color, but doesn’t mention patterns. I was told at a show earlier that any pattern might be suspect by a TD.
I wish they would issue something clarifying this!
I saw a suggestion in one of the dressage tack groups on FB to email for approval of every single piece of show attire you own (and print and keep with your show stuff), and maybe if they were overwhelmed with those emails they would write some useful rules
