Is Vogel Boots still in business?

The last pair of tall boots I ordered from Vogel were ordered in March of 2014, and FINALLY arrived in February of 2015.

NOT. HAPPY.

The customer service from Vogel was terrible. “2 weeks” “2 weeks” “2 weeks”. For 9 of the 11 months. My tack shop was great about checking in with them (I witnessed several of the phone calls), but was VERY disappointed in Vogel.

I needed a new pair, and was fully prepared to be told 4-5 months, with actually expecting 6 months. I ordered from Vogel because I thought: USA company. No going through customs. Perfect.

I would have ordered Konigs if I knew it was going to be 11 months. I have always had those done in 4 months, 5 by the time I received them.

The initial order was placed with the old management, and then the new management took over, and things went downhill quickly. They were not at all concerned about an order that was 8, 9, 10 months old.

All that being said… when they finally DID arrive - they are quite nice. Just plan a year to get them!

I have had two pairs of custom Vogel’s. I tried on all the off the rack boots and bought Ariat Monaco’s which I do love. I wear my boots only when I show, I do now walk around in them all day so they will last. I was going to have zippers put in my old Vogels but thank goodness I did not go that route. If I were to do custom again, I would try Tucci or Parlanti.

I did NOT end up ordering Vogels as I had heard they were taking so long. I ended up “ordering” a pair of Tuccis. They are semi-custom and took 4 months to come in. My problem is I just hate the whole look of zippers, all the bling, and the elastic panel in the back. Plus so far I can.not.zip. myself into them. Right now I wish I had done the custom Vogel route. I’m hoping the Tucci’s break in and become more comfortable.

I ordered my pair from my local tack shop in November and was told they’d take 16 weeks because of the holidays. Cut to March and I was told they were moving buildings. I just got them yesterday.

They seem to fit well, now I just have to break them in!

Vogel appears to be back and better than ever! I just did a pair for a customer with a square toe. Quality is great - just like it always has been.
