ISO: 10’ Single rein

I’m on the hunt for 10 foot long reins. Must be a single piece rein (not split reins). Looking for black. Prefer leather or biothane. Need something that’s currently in stock. Any leads?

Did you see these guys?

Lots of options. Not entirely clear what’s in stock vs custom but might be worth reaching out to see how fast they could get it to you?

I’ve purchased from this seller on Etsy. Is this similar to what you are looking for? Maybe they can do custom stuff fast?

I hadn’t seen those before. Thanks! Looks like they can deliver very quickly. Bonus I can get brass hardware and an 11’ length which is even better for what I’m looking for!

Thank you for the lead!

Are they fairly heavy weight? I currently use rope reins and like the look of these. I like some weight though. No experience with biothane tack.

Imo, beta biothane has the weight of good leather without the upkeep or cost. It’s less slippery, too.

I really prefer it for dog leashes & reins. I go with the 3/4" but the narrower option might be better if your hands are on the small side.

Taylored Tack does beautiful custom biothane, and I have always found her to have a quick turnaround time. Just give her a call!

I have found since living here in the South, for me biothane is the way to go. Easy to clean, just throw it in a bucket of soapy water or even the washing machine, does not mildew or mold, and it comes in all kinds of fun colors!

I have yacht rope single rein that I like riding with. You can google them and they are pretty inexpensive.

I ended up ordered the rein from distance depot. I got the 3/4” width and 11’ length. I currently have a biothane rein in 5/8” width that’s 8.5’ long and agree w @Simkie that the weight is comparable to a leather rein. I like the alligator clips on the bit ends, I would have ideally preferred a leather slobber / water tab between the bit end of the reins and the clip for safety but maybe I can add those myself.

I already ordered but will keep this vendor in mind if I need more!

I’m in FL and also appreciate the easy care of biothane!

I looked at some yacht rope reins. I ride English so by force of habit I have the reins run between my pinky and ring fingers so really prefer a flat rein. I did notice that rope reins more often have the leather slobber / water tabs or straps or whatever they are called at the ends and I really like that feature.

I have the brown version of this one- really like it!
