ISO 3/8" 60 inch plain flat reins (as a curb)

Well I’ve searched high and low and I’d like to find a pair of 3/8 60inch flat reins either sewn as a curb of with buckle, fine either way.
Anyone any ideas where I can find such

TIA

A few decades ago I was desperate for reins long enough for an 18.2 hand high half draft horse.

I looked at every rein available in my “local” tack store. I finally decided that my best alternative was a pair of pony sized draw reins. These were challenging to attach to the bit, etc. but they were long enough and they worked.

Just an alternative if you can’t find anything else.

Look at the stores on line that cater to draft horse people. They MAY have the length you are looking for in a rein.

Call Freedmans in KY, they can make what ever you like. They custom make my odd size pony reins, super easy to work with and quality leather.

I had this place make my reins. https://www.eurohorsedesigns.com/Reins-for-Otto-Schumacher-Bridles_p_111.html
You can e-mail them the specifics to make sure, but it was the only place I was able to get 5/8" width, 60" length, with hook studs. I e-mailed them or did the chat to make sure they could do the length width and it was no problem.

R.E. Fennell’s - Lexington - call Charlie Glenn

He can make 3/8 60” flat reins in any form you wish.

Check their website but know with one call your ’specifics’ can be produced with quality bridle leather.

I got my skinny curb reins from Schneider’s (meant for saddleseat horses) but I’m not sure they have them anymore. 1/2" are easier to find than 3/8".

Schneider’s still has 3/8" reins

Bobby’s makes an oversized 1/2" rein https://bobbystack.com/accessories/silver-spur-flat-leather-reins/

Thank you all, appreciate the replies!
I gave up and just accepted to go with 1/2" 60 inch reins instead of 3/8", at least there were a few readily available without having to wait for a custom, which I may still do.
Those long necked horses, are really no fun to shop for, LOL

If you decide to go custom, contact Bartville Harness in PA. They are Amish, used to be very reasonably priced, do not have a website, but they do have a phone. You can leave a message and they will return the call. I used to be on their list to get a catalog, but I have not ordered any tack from them or anyone for years. I believe Bartville still makes some of the Nunn Finer line for Bit of Britain.
