ISO bridle recommendations

Hello been out of the loop since daughter off at college and showing without me but I want to buy her a new show bridle for her birthday. R the Edgewood’s and arc de triumphs still good choices or r there others out there I should look for? TIA

Edgewoods are still great IMO, but I’ve unfortunately not heard much good about the current Arc de Triomphes. They have switched manufacturing to Argentina, I believe, and the quality has taken a massive downturn (same with Beval).

Hadfield’s is still an excellent choice as well (but very expensive), and I believe so are the New Cavalrys (though they’re going through an ownership change and have limited stock right now). Pretty much anything Harmohn Kraft (Aramas, Americana, etc.) is very nice for the price point as well. The Huntleys are getting great reviews, but I have yet to see one in person.

I think if I were going to buy a new bridle in the Edgewood/ADT price range, I’d go with either Edgewood or New Cavalry. If the price didn’t matter, I’d get my dream bridle, a Bennett’s Hunter Fine Bridle (made by the son of Jim Wiebe, who made Jimmy’s). I believe those are in the Hadfield’s price range.

I love Edgewoods and Hadfields, both are beautiful and wear like iron, they will last for years and years as an everyday bridle and still be nice enough to show in. Also, both of those brands make numerous styles so you can easily customize your bridle. Antares leather is amazing, another good choice. I never cared for ADT, I just didn’t think their leather was as nice as many others.

I have heard good things about The Country Saddler’s Legacy line of strap goods. While I haven’t seen one for myself, I have recommendations from people whose opinion I trust.

I’m a die-hard Edgewood addict, I have some bridles that are 20 years old and still going strong. The newer ones are just as good a quality, which sadly isn’t the case with many other brands.
I think you can’t go wrong with Edgewood.
