ISO Dressage At Devon Video

I know I’m trying to apply logic and reason to something completely irrational, but WHY is someone who “… just don’t have the time. Umm, you know I am very busy doing other things and, to be very honest with you, horses is just very distant for me, you know, and for right now it’s just how it is…”

1.) searching for old DAD videos
2.) maintaining a “dressage supporters” page
3.) posting training videos

???

For the same reasons that someone who claims “it’s drama, drama, drama, and I don’t really need it.” is posting, deleting, inventing alters and posting bizarre video rants?

First: I love you for typing all of that out.

Second: I swear, at least parts of that sounded a lot like a transcript of our cheetoh overlord talking.

That was my exact thought! They are two peas in a pod.

This guy needs professional help, of all kinds. It’s sad and scary, especially knowing he has harassed some folks already.

I hope he did sell Carpathia to a good home far away from NP.

He’salso posted a rant about abortion being murder, and yet it’s pointless men having vasectomies because sperm don’t have a heartbeat. Any difference of opinion is met with “triggered liberalz! Lolz!”. Because, pigeon meet chess board…

He’s also forgetting to mention the part where people DID take him up on an offer for a free clinic/lesson. He refused to carry his own insurance and no one wanted to be sued when it inevitably turned into a disaster or if he decided to mount a horse and show the ol’ monkey riding a football position in person. He was also asking astronomical travel fees (I think because he was honestly trying to scare everyone off so he could say no one would take his offer). One person who took him up was also called repeatedly (think like 10x in an hour or so) when she was busy and couldn’t answer. If he was serious about silencing the haters and providing a free clinic/lesson, he could have definitely done so. His goal was to make it impossible and then throw his hands up in the air like everyone else was being unreasonable.

I am at a loss to understand why Mr. Peronace would reiterate what is such an embarrassing truth, that he can’t give away a “lesson” no matter how many years he has tried to do so. Yes, he would love a free trip to your farm and for you to allow him to ride your horses. No takers, as it should be.

One would think, given that his behavior has been so blatantly weird and dishonest, and that the riding/training expertise claimed is so obviously not a reality, that he wouldn’t go down this “I’m a Grand Prix trainer/rider” road again. However, he apparently believes that people are stupid and have very short memories.

I hope this will be the end of the ruse and that we will hear no more of it.

He comes and goes in cycles. Repetitive cycles. I was just wondering when he would appear next as it was about time. And there he is. Right on time.

He’s on COTH right now…funny since he’s urging a boycott because we’re all a bunch of hate filled losers who can’t ride!

He’s a sad character, so disconnected from reality that he cannot recognize the obvious. I wonder what it’s like to live with such a person? Must be stressful.

I need to find which COTH members can influence judges, if they can get a person marked low, they surely can influence a few high scores here and there…I mean since none of us can ride, there must be influences at work.

Ha I was wondering if those two would have another meetup.

Just wanted to say, I had a slow day at work Friday and clicked on that old link to the NP thread. Made for every entertaining reading for the afternoon. I’d read it when it originally was on-going, but re-reading it…OMG. (I was always particularly annoyed because my eventers/dressage horses for the last 40+ years have been Appies. Now, in the early days, I did run into a little bit of prejudice, but I’m a lot older than NP, and I was dealing with those judges long before he was showing Chevy. I didn’t have any issues during the time period contemporaneous with when NP was 17 and going forward, so, as they say, “that dog won’t hunt.” LOL)

Re bold, I’m not sure he did much of any showing of Chevy.
He certainly did very few rated shows ever, with any horse he’s had his hands on.
The one trained to 2nd that he showed TL, was that one or two shows he did before his friend pulled the plug?
Then that former Hunter lesson horse TB mare he did maybe 2 shows with that I recall?

I think a lot of the bias that he suggests is out there is part of his fantasy… and it certainly helps when he does venture out to a show and scores a 40.
To have already laid the ground work of ‘BIAS!!’ to explain the poor scores, or so he thinks because none of us have educated eyes in our heads, I guess, to actually SEE the reality of it all? shrug

Angela, the funny thing is that the ONE time I got a score in the 40s, it very definitely WAS because of breed prejudice. But I just pocketed that knowledge and didn’t enter any show judged by that judge from then on. I didn’t stop showing altogether like NP. Everyone was remarking on the scoring in ALL the classes at the show by this judge. A local pro showed a horse in my class (a very lovely WB) that totally flipped out. It never halted at the beginning or end of the test. It bucked. It cantered when it should have been trotting, trotted when it should have been cantering, spooked all over the place, etc… While watching, we were saying, "Well, the score won’t be much, but her RIDER score should be 10, because she sat chilly and was infinitely patient and kept TRYING to get a good performance out of the young, green, naughty/spooky horse. About 30 minutes later, all the scores were posted and she had won the class with a 71%!!! She actually refused to take the ribbon. (My other test at the same level, before the second judge, scored a 63%. The one I got the 48% on was a better test shrug this was in 1990, so almost 30 years ago.)

Now here’s a thing…

3 shows on my new 16.3hh TB, in Western Dressage, looks like Gulliver in Lilliputi!

Show number one scored 60’s and 70’s. Show number 2 scored 50’s and 60’s in front of a judge who thinks I may be to big for him. I was wondering out loud if her possible size bias affected my scores.

Show number 3 scores remain in the 50’s and 60’s, the problem is I suck, not that I am big…trying to package him up has lowered my score.

i believe that MOST judges mark what they see in front of them, and I know that I sucked in the last show, I know why, and now I’m working on fixing it.

You have two choices, sit in your sand pit crying and screaming not fair and bias…OR you say to yourself, I will work on becoming so good that they have to score me well whatever their bias.

This is the difference between the so called failures of COTH, and the Maestro, we all fail, most of us look to improve rather than bitch about it.

In the case of NPs notorious scores in the 40s he was claiming the judge was biased against him, because we the people of COTH apparently have the power and the desire to tell judges how to score tests. Luckily for the sport (unluckily for Nicky) there was plenty of photographic and video evidence to conclusively prove the scores were actually quite generous.

I’m sure he didnt contact DAD directly looking for these. He owes them the three years of sponsorship fees for the Cevy’s Cup he used to present there which he never paid for. They finally had to refuse him from doing it any more because he never paid for the fees. It was something he used to claim was an an awarded honor to him and Chevy, but it was a self-sponsored Cup. Which he never paid for. So I doubt even he would have the guts to call them and ask them for anything, and if he did, if they would accomodate him in any way.

Sigh. He’s posted video of his last show doing 3-1 on his Facebook fan page which he believes vindicates him as a rider and a trainer. Incredibly, the Maestro still cannot see a late change (both are late, Nick. As always.) His 10m circles are 17 m eggs, there was no extended trot, no collection and no self carriage. Thank you for proving beyond any shadow of doubt what we’ve known all along. You have no idea what you’re doing. You got the scores you deserved.

Wow. On his page he also posts a rant about the photographer at that show! He accuses the photographer of being part of a hate campaign against him, in that they have posted photos they took of him on their website for that horseshow date. Big clue, Nick: they took photos of every competitor that day and posted all their photos. It’s how the show photography works. The photos are the photographer’s property and they have every right to them. The are watermarked proofs and you can buy them if you want but you can’t have them if you don’t. You gave them permission to hotograph you with your entry form. And, Nick, how can the photographer be posting photos of you as part of a hate campaign, if the photos are so good you use them to show how great you are?

He sounds really gone.
