Love the Nunn Finer reins I got used and went to get another pair for my other bridle (well, bridles if we’re honest) but I’m a cheap a$$ and can’t see myself shelling out roughly $130+ per set of reins/ bridle. I’d also love a version that has hook and stud ends instead of buckles. Does anyone have a brand they can recommend? I don’t want regular rubber, those are too fat for my child-sized hands. I need the thin soft grip material please!
I haven’t tried these yet - but the Dover brand looks very similar & much cheaper. I have had good luck with Nunn Finer stuff on Facebook Marketplace if you can take the time to dig through posts!

Edited to add the Micklem reins - these I have used and like!

The Dover ones look promising! IIRC they have a good return policy - may be worth ordering a pair to see if they would work thickness wise. Thank you!
I can confirm the Dover ones use the same grip material. I would say the leather is a bit stiffer/lower quality than the Nunn Finer reins. I have been happy with them for the price.
Thank you for the review! That’s what I was hoping for - real life experience from a COTHer on an affordable option. You’re the best!
@kaya842 Have you looked at Bartville Harness? They make the reins and NF puts it stamp on it after marking it up…worth a try! They were $83 in my catalog from 2020.
I have two pairs of the Royal/Exion Pro/Bridles and Reins or whatever they call themselves now Soft Grip knockoffs. They’re great for the price, they’ve held up and they have the hook and stud ends
They’re $99 now
