This is a very looong shot but I’m looking for a horse I rode as a kid. I’d really just love to know if he landed in a soft spot and what became of him.
I called him Ralph but his registered jockey club name was I’llfindmywayhome. He was a 2001 gelding by Meadow Monster out of Visible Weather. He raced 5 times, I believe mostly at Aqueduct where he retired in the fall of 2004. I don’t think he did much better than dead last in any of them. He ran with his head straight up so he had a prominent ewe neck. He was a bright bay gelding with a small star and a snip that partially covered his right nostril. He had no other white markings and low black points with a lot of light bay hairs mixed in. He was tall and gangly - Probably 16.2. He was just doing basic walk/trot/canter and jumping small jumps when Iast saw him. He could act like he was mean on the ground unless he decided he liked you and then he was an absolute sweetheart. He could get an attitude about his right hindquarter and he might have had an injury that went unaddressed by the owner, which might be distinctive. Frankly, he’d try to kick your head off your shoulders if you brushed it the wrong way. He was sold from a small farm in Basking Ridge, NJ a few days after Christmas 2005. He was sold with his halter that had his race name on it.
I just adored this horse and I’d love to see if he found a good home after all this time. If ever I had a “heart horse” it’d have been him and I was devastated when he disappeared without a trace. When I asked where he went I was told it was none of my business. If you know anything about a horse like this, I’d love to hear from you.
