ISO small pitchfork

My son absolutely lives to scoop horse poop. Yay!

We have the lightweight, brightly-colored type pitchforks at the barn that he can manage OK with a little help from an adult, but even better would be a smaller, lighter pitchfork that he could manage independently.

I went to Tractor Supply because I have seen kid-sized shovels and rakes there before, but no luck.

Online search just turns up plastic Halloween costume props.

Surprised there wasn’t anything like this on justforponies!

Maybe I could saw off and sand the end of a grownup pitchfork to make it shorter, lighter, and more manageable?

I can always wait for him to grow, I guess.

best price here, and colors! Called a mini fork - we call ours a trailer fork … a space saver for traveling. Ours is easily 18+yrs old.

here’s one with the handle, you will want a handle size to match if you just buy the head and assemble your own. Note can’t get link to post correctly found this at State Line Tack. enter mini trailer fork for their search. Oversize shipping frgt makes ordering the fork head at Chick’s and adding your own handle a better price.

It’s marketed as a dog pooper scooper, but it’s just a tiny little manure fork.

I am surprised they did not have them at your Tractor Supply, that is where I bought mine.

This is the fork I bought at Tractor Supply. Maybe your Tractor Supply could get it in for you?

Edit to add - I bought this small fork to keep in my horse trailer for easy trailer clean up. It is a great little fork.

Personally I prefer a wooden handle vs the steel one on the $24.99 mini fork (plus shipping chgs?) A $6.99 pitchfork head is the best deal. We replace handles here at home all the time. I only buy the heads unless I find something cheap at a horse fair that I can carry home with me.

Our older model one is like this one with the handle at the top - you may want this feature. http://www.statelinetack.com/item/harris-farms-12-tine-mini-stall-fork/E016689/

The tractor supply fork has a wood handle. It is a smaller head than the standard fork.

Edit to add - The tractor supply fork looks like the fork in the link you added to your post.

I use a small black plastic fork with a red wooden handle to take ice out of tanks, that would work fine for a smaller kid to clean stalls.

I have seen them practically every place that has forks, local feed stores and TSC too…
OP, keep looking I expect there are some around where you are also.

Some use those for big dog yard cleaning.
