I’m just starting out in the western classes and am in search of western show clothes and chaps.
I’ve had the hardest time finding chaps. I need a size XXL chaps and a size xl in western shirt, I think they’re called jackets? A fellow customer at our barn gave me a couple shirts but I’m new to this color coordinating with the horse thing.
Have you looked thru this:
They even have a color wheel, so you can pick from that your basic color combinations.
There are facebook web sites where those items are sold also, reinertack one of those.
Once you learn what each class you want to enter requires, some of those you can find in regular stores, that will still work fine for those classes.
The trainer and stable you are working with ought to tell you about clothes and other that some competing are selling.
Some may work for what you want.
A color wheel is a helpful tool!
Find what fits you and fits the rules of whatever you’re showing. I tend to wear solid shirts or shirts with prints on a neutral base (cream, navy, brown). Show pads and blankets are going to be easier to come by. What I do, and a lot of folks I know do, is buy a thick wool liner and put a show blanket on top. Pads, like Air Rides, tend to be pricey and acquiring more than one to match different kits is an expensive endeavor. There are some more expensive blankets, but I find it’s easier to come by reasonably priced ones for the sake of variety.
