I was cleaning off my desk and came across an invoice from ISR/Oldenburg Registry NA for my 2012 membership. It also includes a $30 fee for my mare. I am no longer breeding and my one and only non-Tb foal is fully registered and branded. There is no reason for me to pay for a membership this year is there? I don’t think there is but thought I should check so I didn’t jeopardize anything. Thanks.

No, there is no need. You can always pay it later if for some reason you change your mind, but I only pay my dues/mare fees when I will be breeding a mare and using that registry.
Edited to add that if you are interested in persuing all breed awards, then you might have to be a member in good standing, but if you aren’t interested in that program then the above applies!
See, that is why I asked! I don’t even know what all breeds awards are let alone whether I want to pursue them. Is there somewhere I can read up on that?
You only have to pay the mare fee if you plan to breed the mare. She has to be activated the year she’s bred and the year she foals. The All Breed Award has nothing to do with the mare fee.
The USDF All Breed Award requires that you declare the horse for the awards yearly if you are competing. Go to their website and you can find the information there.
Thanks for clarifying. My foal isn’t dressage bred and since she is only 10 months old I don’t think she will be competing training level or above anytime soon so it looks like that is one thing I don’t have to pay.
