Issue with edit

Issue with edit.

I type something.
Have typo.
Go back to edit.
If I hit return between sentences to move a portion down a line… Suddenly it’s cut off the first word of my preexisting first word, then if I try to fix that its jumbling my new additional words I might add in.
It basically moves them one word past where I’m trying to add/[B]fixtfix w/B the word.

Are you on your phone?

What keyboard are you using?

I have this issue with the Google keyboard. It’s not this board–it happens to me in some other places, too–but it’s consistently a problem here. Guessing it has something to do with how the keyboard interacts with a type of form field.

It got a little better with the last update of the keyboard software, so I’d guess Google knows about it and is trying to fix it.

IIRC the stock Samsung keyboard didn’t have the same issue, or at a much lower rate.

So I go through Google where I saved this forum as a favorite or whatever. Is that what’s doing it?
thanks

You see this problem on your phone, right?

It’s a problem caused by the keyboard. The software that drives what you use to type with.

I find it’s particularly bad with the Google keyboard. This.

Although I don’t think that’s the ONLY keyboard that causes this problem.

No, it doesn’t have anything to do with your browser.

What keyboard are you using, on what kind of phone?

But it’s not COTH, as far as I can tell. So COTH can’t do anything about it. I agree it’s an annoying problem!

I just started having an edit problem as well.

I hit edit – make the edit – hit save and my post is exactly the same as before the edit. This began when I started getting the empty response issue

Well that’s weird…I just edited my above post and it worked fine!

that has been an ongoing issue for at least a year or more, at least for me. Sometimes the edited revised copy is instantaneous other times it does not occur. My guess was load on the server overwhelming the system. So repeated the edit, then give up or delete the whole post

I have never had the edit not happen at all. Sometimes you have to refresh to see the edit, but the edit happens as soon as you refresh.
