I've lost my mind

At the last minute, they needed volunteers to stay up all night in the stewards trailer so the steward can monitor the stables and such. I’ve signed up for two nights of the five that I’ll be in Lexington. One night is XC night, and I’ll also be working XC day. It’s going to be a 24 hour day from 7am to 7am.

But I guess as long as they have lots of coffee and Pepsi and snacks, I can make it.

Why in the world did I feel sorry for them?

Because some of us will be THRILLED that you are watching our pones for us. :stuck_out_tongue:

Originally, before I was asked to ride, I was hoping to get a job (volunteer) doing something exactly like that.

I really hope I get to meet you while I’m there V.

Bless you for your dedication ~ your work will be truly appreciated by all ~

Seriously, you rock! I wanted to sign up when I got the email but I have to work my normal job in addition to WEG shifts and decided that I just would not be able to cope. 10 years ago, yes, but at 33 I just cannot function on zero sleep!

good for you!

Saw that e-mail but between company, my real job, and my own horses to care for (and I’m over an hour away) there was no way. I was wondering if they would have any luck so good for you! You deserve credit for double shifts for that!

You are going to have a fantastic, exhilirating, memorable time. A story to tell the grand kids. 24 hours! take it all in and roll with it. May be one of the highlights of your horse memories.

We are on our way, viney- maybe we will cross paths!

You are the best Viney and yeah you’ll be okay.
