Does anyone have a JM foal or riding age horse? Has anyone used him with his frozen – if so, how was it? If you have a foal or horse by him, what qualities do you see in the foal/horse that you attribute to him? Specifically – is the foal correct? How is the temperment and how does he/she respond to being handled? What are you seeing in gaits and balance? What do you think of the overall conformation? JM just fascinates me – I love how much Thoroughbred blood he carries and the specific TB ancestors in his pedigree. I know my mares from my foundation stallion and mare have some wonderful jumping lines and keep thinking about using him – even though I’m not supposed to be breeding… If you used him, what kind of mare - breed/type did you use him on? TIA

Get in touch with baywithchrome. She has a colt at her farm that was a custom foal out of one of her mares. Semen was very good.
Mary O’Connor has a lovely 2012 colt by Jaguar Mail, now growing up at Robin Stewart’s place in S. VA… He’s a good looking boy with a beautiful temperament.

I sought out Jaguar Mail to breed to our As Di Villagana (Han) / Camille (TB) mare, As Di Ani Z, in order to achieve a unique combination of bloodlines resulting from similarities between the TB lines of Ani’s dam, Camille, and Jaguar Mail that include both Buckpasser and Boran, and a commonality between Jaguar Mail’s dam, the Laudanum mare Elivira Mail, and As Di Villagana, who share Almé (Z).
Acord II was a nice bonus thanks to As Di.
The result is a very correct foal of good size and a very nice temperament:

Poke around in there just a little, looking at Ani and Jaguar Mail separately, and you will see that both top and bottom have similar stories, not too close up, not too far back, with Almé, Buckpasser, Boran, and Turn-To making appearances in a very balanced way.
(Amlé isn’t color-coded, as he is there once @ Z and once not, same horse but standing at Brullemail he was just Almé, standing at Zangersheide he was identified as “Z”)
Jaguar Mail offered these bloodlines in addition to being a sought after event sire in Europe and a reliable jumper producer, after having won ‘Sires of the World’ in Belgium, going to the Beijing Olympics (SWE), then coming home to France and winning the French Young Rider title. His dam, Elvira Mail, is a real magic mare, a full sister of a great GPx horse and a producer not only of Jaguar Mail, but also the WEG-FR jumping mare, Kachina Mail, who was runner up at the FEI Showjumping World Cup.

We are very excited about watching this colt grow up, have so far kept him intact to allow for sale to a breeding home if that opportunity presents itself, but in the meantime both his dam and granny will be at work under saddle, so we have our hands full while he is busy growing up.
We had a client do a custom foal with our Coconut Grove-Final Pool mare. She wanted a 100% Thoroughbred but after searching extensively, decided Jaguar Mail was the way to go. The resulting colt is 91% blood. Here is his pedigree: http://www.horsetelex.com/horses/pedigree/1550721?levels=5
The frozen semen was super and as you’d expect, service from Hilltop was excellent 
No surprise that the colt is definitely more TB-y looking in overall appearance than the mare’s 2011 filly by a far less blooded SF stallion. This colt is very correct and looks like he’ll be quite tall (17h range) with good length of leg. He has very good bone. His topline is good. Good length of neck, although I’d like to see it set a tad higher. A very strong back, loin and engine. As you’d expect, he has a huge ground covering canter. His trot has nice expression and suspension.
Temperament is superb, but this motherline always throws impeccably behaved, human-oriented foals so it’s hard to say what JM throws. At minimum, he didn’t seem to bring any overpowering negatives. Overall, the colt is just a very laid back kinda guy that is a pleasure to work with and watch mature.

Cougar Mail is a gorgeous foal! Cruised around the Hilltop website also. Had already looked at some other internet sites with hm. It would be pretty awesome – if I could just figure it out! He would certainly match up well with my girls. He’s a spectacular guy!

How tall is Cayah Bay?
As strange as it might looks, even if Jaguar Mail has more than 80% blood he doesn’t bring this to his foals. He needs a mare with blood but will add size to the mare.
Ani (as you can see by her pedigree) is 1/2 TB (not counting the little fractions found on As Di’s side of the family tree). I definitely didn’t want to go to a full on WB with her as I thought it might risk too much coarseness.
Ani herself is bigger than her dam, maybe already as tall as As Di (who is not large at 16h) with a little more to go.
Coco (as we call him) is going to be much taller than Ani, unless he really surprises us. He’s only a little shy of the Landkoenig filly he’s turned out with who is a little older than he is, and keeping pace with her growth rate so far.
