Jazz as a grandsire – temperament?

I’m looking at two dressage prospects, coincidentally both Jazz granddaughters. One is out of a Jazz mare, the other is by Jazz son Wynton. Curious if anyone has insight into how the Jazz reputation for reactivity and spookiness might show up with him a generation back, or with Jazz on the sire’s side vs the dam’s side. Most posts I’ve read discuss him as a sire.

The Wynton mare’s damsire is Negro. The mare with Jazz as her damsire is D-line Hanoverian on top.

Thanks in advance!

Do you have the ability to meet either dam?

A bit of a concern would be a Jazz son out of a Negro mare. Both are noted to produce tricky offspring. Can you meet them both in person? Can you be sent videos of them both being led around or being ridden outside of the arena to see how they handle seemingly unfamiliar places? If under saddle, they both might be auction ridden in sales videos and it might be difficult to see their true nature.

If you are still considering these 2 horses I’d join https://www.facebook.com/groups/DressageBreeders/ as the members are a wealth of breeding information.

I have a yearling filly that is Dauphin x Blu Hors Zack x Florestan. Blu Hors Zack is Ferro on the stud side and Jazz on the mare line. Dauphin is D line. She is sensitive but sensible and very smart. Not a project for the average AA.
