Congratulations on getting him. 
Very strange that he doesn’t appear in the database with a partial search. Out of curiosity, how are his markings described on the papers? It’s always interesting to be able to compare the horse with the description accepted by the JC. 
Knowing his name, I played with the partial search again. Apparently he has some scattered white on one hind and that’s why we couldn’t find him. He comes up when you search with face white, and white on LF and RH
" Irregular star and connected narrow stripe, widening on bridge of nose, becoming bordered flesh colored above nostrils, extending between nostrils, into right nostril. Left fore: coronet irregularly white, except on outside, higher in back. Right hind: heavily mixed white hairs on ankle and cannon. Median cowlick at eye level. "
^ That is the correct description.
He does not truly have any white on his right hind. But there are a lot of silvery/tan/brown hairs mixed into the black.
My OTTB mare has similar “markings” on one of her front legs, yet it is not included in the description of her markings (otherwise just a teeny star). I am surprised that it’s included for this boy, but I guess it makes sense.
