Jim Culleton, MFH Reedy Creek Hunt, VA

Jim Culleton was a popular and immensely colorful MFH who introduced many people to the sport of foxhunting here in Virginia with his beloved pack black and tans, and also with the Abington Hills Hunt where he was a Jt. MFH for several years.

His presence in the hunt field will be sorely missed by many.

Oh no - I’m so sorry to learn he’s passed away.

My condolences to his friends and family, and to the members of Reedy Creek.

Such sad news. Tommy and all the other folks down there are in my thoughts and prayers today.

so sad

Jim and Tom made a huge difference in our lives. They introduced my husband and me to hunting, opened their home and barn to us (a displaced Army family of two!) and shared many great laughs over a bowl of chili.

I will never go out for a morning ride without thinking of Wednesday hunts led by Jim and Hurry, across RCH’s beautiful country (even in ‘heavy mist’). His wisdom and humor were a rare combination, and you could not help but love him for it.

He was one of a kind and even though we were lucky enough to know him for a very short time, he made our lives immeasurably richer. I hope that wherever he is, there are hounds and horses, stories to tell, and plenty of foxes to chase.

Hard news to hear. Thoughts and prayers are with his friends and family.

A standing room only crowd at the service this evening.

We will miss our good friend and MFH.
