BAC, the OP is talking about Jim Wiebe’s bridles (he is the son of the original Jimmy/Jimmy’s 20th Century tack.) The quality is lovely. The original Jimmy’s stuff -once the very nicest you could buy anywhere - was outsourced elsewhere at one point in the recent past, and you’re right, I didn’t care for it as much.
I do also really like Wayne’s Legacy Bridleworks (at the Country Saddler, as you mention.) I suppose it’s a matter of individual taste, but I like the style he offers in his semi-custom line, which have nice padding and wider noseband. I guess I have gotten used to that look and prefer it now to the narrower, unpadded style that was so popular in our youth. In fact, I finally admitted to myself that I really just didn’t care for that narrower design at all and sold both my Jimmy’s 20thC and my Hermes which were made in that style.[/QUOTE]
Thanks for setting me straight about the Jimmy’s stuff. I didn’t know you sold your Hermes, I loved that bridle and wanted it for myself, if only I had something to put it on. But I agree about the styles, I find I prefer the wider or padded bridles much more than the older, narrower styles.
