Jimmy Dean's turkey sausage: OK for dogs?

I picked up some Jimmy Dean’s pre-cooked turkey sausage patties on a whim after last week’s agility class, when my dog was utterly captivated by some turkey burger someone left in an open bag by the ring.

Ingredients list is pretty simple—no onions, no garlic—but it says “spices,” with no explanation of what that might include. Googling hasn’t been very informative either.

If it’s not OK for dogs, I can always feed it to DH, so it won’t go to waste. But the way little dog was acting when I pulled it out tonight makes me think that I might have stumbled across something fabulous enough to keep his little terrier mind on me.

my JRT thinks the turkey sausage crumbles are crack!! it is the only thing that he will eat his glucosamine with

If there is a mild version then you can try a little of it, cooked thoroughly of course, and see if there are any bad effects. The one item that would worry me is the effect of spices on tender doggy stomach, but a tiny bit to try could work.

It’s awfully salty and greasy. I wouldn’t offer it to a dog prone to pancreatitis or a dog that has heart problems. Even so, a healthy dog may only get the tiniest taste as a treat in my house. I’m pretty cautious.

Yeah my guy gets two tiny nuggets but it makes him clean up his joint supplement. Since he is allergic to beef this works well for me.
