So sorry Freebird. You and Tamara are too young to have to have gone through these terrible losses.
Just so tragic.
My recommenation is that the family get a media spokesperson. Perhaps not in this case, but certainly in others the victim’s family will be asked the most insensitive, ridiculous questions at the wierdest times, never when one is prepared. Having a nonfamily member deal with that stuff can give the family a real break. Particularly if there is a trial.
I am so sorry for your loss, and will pray that God gives you strength and grace to persevere.

On the other news stories… there were comments from MULTIPLE people that Lillard has threaten to “shoot them” in the past. Sounds like this guy has a history of threatening people with gun violence.
Never quite understood how someone could shoot another man and plead “not guilty”. There is no argument EVER worthy of taking another man’s life… especially not this father, husband and son. What a tragedy.

Daniel gave a written statement that Howard had come to his home Wednesday and “confronted him about a letter that Mr. Daniel had sent to him concerning a field that Mr. Howard had sprayed earlier in the year that he was unsatisfied with,” according to the warrant.
Daniel in his statement said Howard “began yelling at him and told him to shut up several times,” the warrant states. Daniel said he “told Mr. Howard that he would shut him up,” and picked up the shotgun that was in the garage and shot Howard.
And pleads not guilty – Hope God brings justice. Makes me so sad and angry that this selfish man took so much from so many over such a trivial thing.

I grew up next to the person who shot him. He threatened to kill my mom once. And I used to babysit for Calvin Howard. He was such a nice man. Horrible tragedy.
I think it’s too soon. The media is notorious about getting things wrong.
