Jingles and prayers please for strangulating lipoma

Does anyone have thoughts on red light vs Bemer? I’m using a Bemer on his knee now. Honestly, I’m still wondering if the knee is a red herring and his shoulder is the problem…similar to sweeny.

I don’t have a Bemer, but I use red light therapy wrap on my back and knees and it makes a significant difference in my inflammation and pain.

I use it daily and recommend it to everyone.

I also use a red light on myself and think it really works. Haven’t yet splurged for one for the horses yet, but I really, really want to.

I just bought one based upon recommendations here. I also read interesting information about knees on the Reitivet website. Schneider’s has them on sale, so I bought one there. Thank you, everyone. I’m still working on supplements…

I use my Hooga human one on my horse. Works just fine. Way cheaper than horse specific.

I have found bemer and pemf to work much better than red light therapy.

Thank you!

Thank you to all for suggestions. He had his first PRP injection about 5 weeks ago. The swelling did come down. I am using the tallest Back on Track quick wraps on him which cover his knees. He’s getting Lubrysin and Legend. I have been using a Bemer blanket and boots, as well. I bought him a red light pad. Curiously, he does more licking and chewing, snorting and still points w that than he does the bemer. He cantered today in the field w no problem and has no problem getting up when he rolls.

That said, if one tries to lift his foot and pick it, he can only bend it back maybe 45 degrees as opposed to 90. He has another appt for a PRP injection but I’m wondering if it’s actually in the muscle/stay apparatus in front. I did not get good information about his fall in isolation. Did he hit the wall w the point of his shoulder?? Tonight I have the red light pad under his blanket going across the point of his shoulder. He did a lot of releasing ( he does a crazy thing w his jaw- it goes back and forth sideways) and just woke up out of his still point (or zoned out) and is stuffing himself.

Does anyone have suggestions re: how to test for muscle vs knee? I though about asking the vet to block the knee before he’s injected again…

And he, thank the Lord above, looks great and is doing well.:heartpulse::pray::innocent:

I did have his neck radiographed- no arthritis.

Poor dude.

Do you have access to a good acupuncturist? I’ve got a great one and that’s who I send all my strange symptoms to. Between scanning them for sensitivity at certain points, watching them move, and palpating them (she’s also a vet and a rider herself), she can usually set me on the right path, even if that path is more imaging.

@NaturallyHappy
I love that part about “And he, thank the lord above, looks great and is doing well.”

It’s all because of you !

Actually, I should have given credit to the very talented surgeon who scrubbed in at the last minute to help save him, too. Although I do believe God intervened there, too.

So glad to hear he’s looking and doing well! I second an acupuncturist or massage therapist to help sort what’s going on with his knee.

I actually have a massage therapist coming tomorrow, so I’m hopeful she will help. Thank you for following and suggesting ideas.

He really likes this person. He is very clear and communicative about things like that. She decided to use her laser first and found his neck to be very reactive on both sides at C4-C5. He was also quite reactive on both knees - big snorts and huge yawns. She is coming back in a week. I think I may put off the PRP injection tomorrow. I’ve been concerned his neck was part of the problem ever since he fell. For example, if one leads him on a loose line, he trips significantly less than on a tighter hold.
I’m wondering if when he fell, his head hit and bowed his neck under his body…
I’m open to thoughts…. Thank you.

His wonderful veterinarian was here yesterday…he was in complete support of postponing the PRP and continuing laser therapy based upon the response to the laser. She lasered my neck, as well, when she was here. I am still pain free…and that hasn’t happened in years. I had my neck ( and his knee) done w a grade 1 laser previously. I saw/felt no results. The grade 4 is a game changer.

That’s wonderful!!

I bought a grade 3 laser a few years ago and use it all the time. If that’s something in your budget I’d highly recommend buying one.
