Well, I’m reading a new Stephen King, so I don’t think he wants to hear that…[/QUOTE]
New Stephen King???
I watched Pacific Rim last night. I have been Googling random things about Kaiju all morning.

Yep, Doctor Sleep, sequel to The Shining. DH is ahead of me on his Kindle and says it’s really good (my phone is linked to his Kindle acct), because I had to read The Shining. I figured I had seen the movie and didn’t need to, and jettisoned out of Doctor Sleep within four pages to go read The Shining first… So now I’m getting into Doctor Sleep, which thus far is different but good (maybe?), so I’m going to go read it while scritchin’ on Odie and try to get more into it, been too busy this past week to do more than a page or three at a time.
Yikes! (Xray) poor burrito. Go ahead, read it to him, he’ll probably like it.
I think he would rather hear Brighty of the Grand Canyon. Give him something to aspire to…a hike?!
I work in ortho and those rads were greek to me. Hardly matters as the lil donk is an inspiration to me! I showed my coworkers his pics and they about peed themselves! My dd and her bf are looking for a farm and my request is for a mini donk as their first non-ottb resident.
AWWW! Jingles for Odie from Radar, the mini donkey, in OH!
Jingles & AO continue for Odie and his family ~

Still jingling for Odie. Thanks for all the pics…he’s quite simply the most adorable creature I’ve seen! Fluffy Odie looks like a stuffed animal I had as a kid!
Keep us updated on the sweet fella, and let me know how Doctor Sleep is. I heard a fantastic review of it on NPR, but The Shining is one of my favorite books ever, and I’m kinda scared of reading something that might tarnish it. (Not doubting Stephen King at all…I just know how sequels can be sometimes.)
It picks up a couple years after the end of The Shining for a couple pages, then jumps ahead a few more years for a couple more… Then jumps forward rough 15 years. So far it only mentions the events at the hotel in passing, it’s like a whole new book.
OK, quick update. Odie is still happy and hobbling around like a champ. Not putting weight on it still, buuuut… I think the cast has him a little psyched out. If he seems me reaching to touch it, he hobbles off with a grumpy face, but if I block his view, I can touch all I want. So I think he just thinks he can’t walk on it. He’s resting it quite a bit on the ground though.
Odie says HAI!! to all his fans, and appreciates all the well-wishes :).
Bonswa,Odie!
HAI Odie! He is just so fluffy.
That x-ray is scary looking indeed. Ouch! Speedy recovery little one!
And, I might junt have to read this Doctor Sleep, I loved The Shining.
Continued jingles for Sir Odie!! That x-ray was slightly terrifying, but it’s Odie, so he’ll be just fine!
Oh no, I missed this thread originally :(. Poor Odie. I think that once he’s healed, you need to get him a mini goat t rough house with - still fun, but a little less dangerous :).
Oh yeah. Vet has digital now, and as the image scrolled down the screen I just busted out crying right there is the barn aisle :-(.
Jingles for Odie!
If you’re worried about his weight bearing limb, get some soft ride boots. They’re worth their weight in gold.

You’ll be glad you read TheShining first. This book could stand alone but the “in the know” nuances make it so much better.
Jingles for Odie!
I had a mare fracture P1 - basically broke an entire corner off and it was displaced. I actually assumed abscess as well for the first few days, then a vet said cellulitis, so we lost quite a bit of valuable time. After 3 cast changes, 6 months of stall rest, 2 months of hand walking, 3 months of minimal & controlled (ace ) turnout, she has been given the all clear to rehab under saddle at a walk for a couple of months.
If you notice he is not getting more comfortable or getting more uncomfortable with the cast definitely call the vet back. That was drilled into my head, so many possibilities for stuff to go wrong underneath!
Odie sure has size on his side though!
So how’s rory doing w/o his buddy?
Surprisingly, Rory is ok.
I was getting the impression in recent months that Rory was “outgrowing” Odie as far as needing him in the security blanket sort of way. They still played like crazy, generally instigated by Odie, but he’s turning into a independent and vaguely assholeish kind of horse…
