Jingles for Evil Burrito: post 680 something EORTH :(

AWESOME!

I emailed on the one that isn’t sitting on blocks to get dimensions. I wonder how hard it would be to install windows… I wish DH wasn’t deploying next week!

I wouldn’t expect it to be hard at all. Easiest way would be just to cut some holes and trim them with wood or metal channel. Then you’d just need a way to secure some plexi over it. It’s pretty much the same as putting windows in a metal pole barn.

Or you could just take the doors off and let him use it as a run in. Then you wouldn’t need windows.

Annnnnnnnd, finally, a long clip of Odie braying!! I let all the horses out, and then stepped out of view.[/QUOTE]

That poor donkey!! Please send him to Canada and we will build him an Igloo le Burrito.

If these are tin sided sheds…they don’t have much structure and an enterprising burrito could easily knock the thing down… we have one and I wouldn’t put anything alive inside it. Now if these are one of those Menonnite built sheds I wouldn’t think twice about using them to house even an evil burrito.

Yeah, and since it would be in the paddock with Rory…who gets into everything…

Back to square one. Home Depot has some that look nice, but man, when I say I’m NOT handy, I REALLY mean it. Hanging curtains is my crowning achievement, and I’m not being facetious. And DH leaves Tuesday… Hmmm. Continue on with ideas!

Yes, there are some kind of tie downs to secure car ports and sheds to the ground. I think any carport or shed sales person would be glad to discuss installation, and securing the type of shelter you want.

We get lots of wind here, so that would be a definite item in the “need” column.

DH and I are extending the tent to include a 12’ addition for moving around this weekend, per vet recommendation. I’ll talk to him about what he thinks for the next couple of months…

Went to the barn before work tonight and snapped this cute pic :). Rory wanted to help? Maybe? And Odie was hamming it up for attention too.

Ya know, the Chronicle really needs a ‘caption this’ feature each week… that is frameworthy!

From today, with the dutiful DH assisting

Wow, he has improved a lot! Looks like he is doing great!

Lookin’ good!

He is walking on it now, that is an improvement.

I was thinking, looking at his bare leg, with so much hair, next time you shave him, you could give him a poodle cut, with pom-poms over his hip bones, etc.

He was walking on it before, just not with any real flexion. So this is a huge improvement :). And we expanded his stall to 12x24 yesterday also.

The hoof is still smaller, so I hope with more circulation that will improve. And it looks like a huge chunk of frog is about to shed off. Odie has been making a point out of walking on the big rock drains around the arena, I’m sure so that the food on either side is easier to reach, but the hard surface is great for his little feet. Rory is getting his feet done on the 20th, and I’m going to get the farrier to trim Odie too.

Go, Odie!!! :applause:

He looks great - hardly any hitch in his getalong.

Oooh!
I so agree with Bluey on the Poodle Cut

I’ve been threatening a zebra cut…

Quick update!

Vet appointment has been scheduled for the 26th for what may or may not be his final xrays. Vet may not even want to do them, we shall see. Also, I did admit that I’ve been letting Odie be loose…hehehe. Vet seemed unconcerned, was glad he is using it.

Anyways, Odie is doing AMAZING!! Seriously. Today he was running up and down the hill by the arena with hardly any change from a “normal” gait. He still has a bit of unsoundness at the trot and isn’t a fan of me trying to hold the foot the way I normally would to pick it or try to pick up the other hind. I’ll address that with the vet.

And a cute video of him running from DH. Don’t mind the retarded person yelling “run” in an annoying nasally voice…

You do realize that vet visit or no, we are going to expect ongoing Odie videos

He is looking good and love the burrito sized blanket!

Well, if you look at my Youtube account, you’ll see 50+ videos of Rory and Odie, or just Odie, spanning back from BEFORE he was injured. So no worries, they will continue, and if one is cute enough, I’ll post here.

If you have a Google account or FB, friend me or follow my Youtube, there are about three times as many videos there as what I share on here because I don’t want to seem like the crazy donkey lady. Plus my other two horses, DH’s two, and the cray-cray Border Collie. DH is deployed all year, I’ll have nothing else to do with my time…
