Um. Please dont let the thread die. I still cant do facebook and keep looking for Odie updates!
Another non FB here too… Gotta get be-donked somehow.
Another vote here for keeping the thread alive. You just can’t take away his royal cuteness now!
That’ll work
Odie is so cute and silly…
He is silly. I can tell you he is an angry burrito here recently. I haven’t been letting him out to wander the farm now that he gets to go out at night, and oh man. I can’t leave the halters hanging on the gate anymore, he yanks them down, drags them way out into the paddock and stomples them into the dirt. I had to take his halter home and wash it last week.
Stomples. I like the new word!
StG
Feel free to steal, I’ve been using it for years
Any stompling video ?
No but I do have this old post-hissy-fit picture. That is NOT where I left the fly masks, and his halter and Nika’s halter were NOT on the ground

Update
Odie is doing well, no setbacks. Both BM and I notice that he is very tender and owie when he first gets up after lying down for a while, but not when he gets up after rolling. Not sure why? But otherwise moving right along, and now expressing his displeasure at Nika when he’s displaced at the gate by her (she is now in charge, and he doesn’t like it) by kicking out at her after he moves away. It’s pretty funny.
And some pictures
BM sent a lesson kiddo in the pasture with Odie’s hay bag. Odie promptly tried mugging her…

Hey, c’mere!
Hey, no really, stop running…
Om nom nom[/QUOTE]
Glad to hear he is doing so well.
With the stiffness, it probably just stiffens up when he doesn’t use it for awhile when he lies down, but it loosens up when he uses it. When rolling he isn’t off it long enough for it to stiffen back up. I have had similar issues when getting over injuries - it’s stiff when I get up in the morning, but after a few minutes I’m good for the day.
He sounds like my mother: quite ouchy as soon as she gets up in the morning, but after about a half hour moving around, she’s fine.
(And please, don’t anyone tell my mother i compared her to a donkey. :uhoh:)
His Cuteness is adorable! Looks like his lesson serf had a fun time, too! thanks for the pics!

Not to go too off topic but recently I used the “serviceably sound horse” example as a comparison when my husband was getting grouchy over some questionable x-rays of his neck. His response was: I can’t believe you just compared me to a horse.
My response: Even if I knew about your x-rays 10 years ago when we were getting married, I still would have married you all the same as you are serviceably sound for any and all activities I wish to do with you.
Ha. Yeah… DH would have not passed a PPE either. He has, erm…side bone? We’re four surgeries into a five year relationship! Good thing he’s insured
My husband said I should have come with a Carfax. I would never have passed a vet check. I had brain surgery and a spinal fusion both within 6 months last year.
I totally agree that Odie’s just stiff after lying down. I know how I feel in the morning, and I’m only 31. LOL.
