I love the nap in the grass.
Glad to see he is now free to pester all as required!

Yeah! That is good news!
Adorable and my favourite donk.
Excellent!:applause:

He’s a trooper :)
Yes, he is, but he happens to have a family that came thru for him in his very serious time of need, that is what brought him to being ok today.
Pat on the back for you and your team.
One big hug for sweet Evil Burrito.
He made it, yeah!
This ought to be the best story of this year.
(Too bad I was asked not to use smileys, you deserve some right along.)
Thank you Bluey!

Thank you Bluey!
You are welcome!
I have to say, I was dubious that this was going to end up well.
That was a very serious injury, a broken leg generally doesn’t heal well.
I am so, so glad I was wrong, really glad.
So happy for him and all of you.
I think the vet felt the same way, but I was one determined donkey-mom! And he stayed so plucky other than some depression when he was locked in a stall with no view (back on page…uh…well, back there), that it made all the decisions easier.

Those pictures tell the story, scary the first one, makes your heart sing the last one.
Yes, “you did well, grasshopper”, very, very well.
The donkey gods are smiling right along.
Donkey-moms are the best.
Yay! So happy for you , Odie and Rory! How can anyone not want to give Odie a big cuddle and smooch on the nose with that face?! To cute!
P.
Yep, he’s a cutie! Soon to be the owner of his very own specialized donkey-shelter, complete with Dutch doors he can look through and an anti-Rory stop bar
Trooper?
He’s the 5-Star General of Recovery!
Go, Odie!!!
I bet that was the longest 7.5mos of your Life, nowhere to go now but Up :encouragement:
Bluey
Whassup with the Smiley Nazi “No Smilies for YOU!” ???
EIGHT YEARS GUYS
Anyway, I know most of you know Odie aka Evil Burrito and his story of woe and triumph. Wanted to update that nearly eight years later, he is finally having some “owie” days as the expected ringbone progresses and I may have some new xrays next month to see where we are at in that. I sent the original horrible rads to my new vet, who isn’t all that new anymore but isn’t the original vet (he, now retired, who had the funny story about getting a tractor (or truck?) stuck in the mud many posts back up during an Evil Burrito check up appt with my now xDH), so she could see what it was and give the thumbs up for occasional equioxx. She was AMAZED he made it, and said her new vet in her practice just PTS a horse with a nearly identical injury.
But he is still amazing and happy, just has some days with a pronounced hitch in his get along and I see Argie winning the “no this is MY hay pile” arguments a little more often. But he is still just as evil as ever
Love the Evil Burrito!
Amazing evil burrito he is, glad he made it, now all those years, neat!
Hurray for the Evil Burrito!
All hail the Evil Burrito. Glad he made it and is still his old evil self. Go Odie!
Go Odie!
We’ve got a big gelding in the barn who had ringbone surgery a few years ago. He’s sound as can been be. He does get handled with kid gloves. I just shake my head when see him with in a lesson and wonder how he’s sound and I’m not.
Yay, Odie! The world needs more Evil Burritos in it!
Love the Evil Burrito!!! Thank you for keeping him going and sharing his cuteness with us! I assume he knows he has a fan club.
