Cindy CRNA, I was concerned about the same thing. But I was able to find out that Brad does exist. He is not a confused teenager. He is in his 30’s, graduated college in 2000, and holds a responsible corporate job.
From reading his posts, there have been more than a few awkward / questionable comments and questions about his uncle (Melanie’s husband)…
It has been admirable that so many COTH posters have been so kind in their responses to Brad’s many questions ranging from the accident, the physical injuries, who was using his Aunt’s FB page, did anyone video the Pennsylvania memorial service and was Brad’s uncle able to walk,
But out of respect for a fellow eventer who passed tragically and her grieving husband, it really might be best if COTH posters consider that they might be being manipulated to provide information on Melanie’s husband. And that would be so very sad.
Of course, I could be completely wrong and home that I am. RIP Melanie, we miss you on xc.

He is in his 30’s? I would have never guessed that. So sad.
Did you find out this information from someone who knows the family or from internet searching? Because there could be more than one person with the same name, even in the same state.
Gardenhorse, COTH poster Brad can easily correct me if I am wrong. Perhaps as thanks for all of the support he has received from other posters and put their minds at ease, and of course, out of respect for Melanie and her husband.
I THINK there are some here who know her family IRL . I honestly thought from reading his posts he was 14. I don’t say that to be mean, I truly thought he was a kid.
We removed a post with some personal information posted about a third party.
I’ve met and spoken with Brad’s family. I have spoken to Brad in messages off the main board.
He’s not a teenager. But he’s also not great at knowing where to draw the lines in the internet that we all live and work with in this modern day.
I doubt he’s playing anyone. My husband had a business transaction with Mel and her hubby and he’s a lovely man as well. No doubt he will be grieving for a long time and I cannot imagine what that level of grief can do to a person.

You got the wrong Brad, I’m in college and I hope to get a corporate job when I graduate. I’m a major in Accounting.
Also, I’m sorry for posting my Aunts and Uncles job on here. I would never do that to my aunt or uncle on purpose. I just wanted to let you all know what Gordon was going through with the tragic death of my aunt, but I bet some of you already know so I’m sorry about that. I love Gordon and would never post his personal information to hurt him.
Thank you for mentioning the service, I still haven’t gotten the video of the service. I emailed my uncle twice and still haven’t gotten a response.
