I got the call, no horse owner wants to get. My darling mare was down and wouldn’t get up. By the time I got to my parents my mom had gotten her up and was hand walking. I checked for gut sounds called the vet and gave her Banamine. Pretty quickly she perked back up and was begging for food. I have been checking her hourly all night. She still has gut sounds and the Banamine has worn off and she is acting normal but no poop yet.

Please pray for poop!

I would call at 7am, if she is comfortable but not making manure. If there is any discomfort, I would call immediately.

Thanks ZuZu I think the plumbing is working again, and the vet has oked little bit of food, Whin was so happy she took a lap bouncing around the pasture!

Make sure she is eating and drinking normally. My mare was still passing manure and looked normal to everyone else, but her drinking and eating were not her usual. Temp & Resp were normal. I called the vet anyway and she needed to be tubed as she was full up. I wouldn’t wait myself.
