What idiots! That race looked like total chaos and if one or both of those guys had come off their mounts there could have been a pileup. What was the outcome? Iām thinking lots of days for those two pinheads.
What idiots for sure!
Two pinheads. Hope they both get a nice amount of time off the trackā¦
Wow, you donāt see that everyday. I bet the connections were pissed!
I cannot believe that they let Vaz ride the rest of the card after that. Both riders should have been escorted off the grounds and not allowed to return until a hearing and some anger management. They put many horses and riders lives at risk.
Certainly not smart - endangering everyone - not only themselves, but also all of the horses and the other riders in that race. This so could have been a real disaster.
I hope that they draw much more than a āslap on the handā.
I imagine that the betting public was not pleased either (at least those who wagered on the affected horses).
Thankfully the horse on the outside (left) of the grey was able to keep his feet as well.
What good horses both horses were to putt up with that garbage!!!
Julie Krone was a historic scrapperā¦

Thatās crazy.
Yesterday afternoon the one jockey - I believe on the horse on the inside who bore out into the other one & punched & then whipped the other jock, did a telephone interview that contained a comment that the other jockey said something about his mother . . .

⦠said something about his mother . . .[/QUOTE]
Going back to the days of Jimmy Winkfield and then to Bill Hartack if you were a jock you had to have thicker skin then that. If a jockey is rattled by a āYour mamaās so fatā joke then Iād say hang up your tack!
Hey Glimmerā¦
:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:
Yo Mamma!
any word on what is going to happen to these 2 pinheads???
The video has been removed.
I predict 60 days for the instigator and 30 days for the recipient. Both will get $1,000 fines.

The same video was posted by another user too [with audio effects]:
I have that race recorded. Supposedly it started with words in the gate, but I couldnāt tell about that. Looked like something straight from the movies. Jerks! Didnāt one of them win the next race? Anyway hope he can live off of that for as long as heās suspended:mad:
From the BloodHorse 1-10-10: Jockey Apologizes for Philly Incident"
Jockey Eriluis Vaz, one of two riders involved in a mounted fight during Philadelphia Parkās fifth race Jan. 8, has issued a public apology for what he terms ābad judgmentā as he awaits a hearing before the stewards along with fellow rider Ademar Santos.
āI would like toā¦say how sorry I really am for the incident that happened between myself and Mr. Santos,ā Vaz wrote in a statement that was issued to the horse racing television network TVG. āI made a terrible mistake reacting the way I did during the race the other day.ā
Vaz and Santos face a stewardsā ruling after coming to blows during the running of a race for $7,500 claimers at Philadelphia Park. Vaz was racing along the rail on the Luis Calderon-trained Divine Light and sent his mount toward the outside, causing Santos, aboard John Dunn trainee Mi Helena, to be pinched between horses. As Vaz corrected his mount, Santos stood in the irons and turned his head to speak to Vaz.
āI asked, āMan, why you go like that?āā Santos told The Philadelphia Enquirer.
After Santos spoke to Vaz, Vaz punched Santos in the face. Santos swung back, then Vaz struck at him with his whip before Santosā mount drew away. Vaz and Divine Light finished fifth but were disqualified to ninth by the stewards. Mi Helena and Santos finished ninth.
āI made a mistake, one that I will regret the rest of my life,ā Vaz stated. āI used bad judgment and should have handled the situation differently. I apologize to everyone for my actions, and hope that I will be forgiven by all the owners and trainers that I am privileged to ride forā¦also my fellow riders, and the betting public who back me day after dayā¦I am heartfully (sic) sorry.ā
The jockeys will go before the Philadelphia Park stewards at 10 a.m. Jan. 21.
The above account makes it seem like the jocks were ājust chattingā during the race - just as they did in the final sequence in Seabiscuit. Ha!
