Jockeys and the Race Horse World's drug problem

I am just re-reading Gary Stevens “The Perfect Ride”, and he goes into his stance on medicating race horses pretty strongly for a couple of pages. Basically, NO race day drugs, and he opens the door to discussing not using any drugs of any kind on any horse that is racing.

Has anyone seen anything in print from other jockeys? This book was published 18 years ago, so it was a good position to take, but one that obviously is not shared by the trainers. Since a jockeys life is in the hands of the trainers, hopefully they are taking a strong stand on the issue.
