I am looking at a JD package that includes the tractor, brush hog, box blade, front end loader and a 20’ trailer to haul it for $26K. Will use to brush hog, move small round bales and general stuff for 20 acres. Anyone have this tractor or have any feedback? For some reason I have to travel to Ohio as it is an ag service that is putting this together. I have tried to find local but cannot find this particular package. We are in KC.
Based on some recent feedback on COTH that may not be enough oomph for round bales unless they are really small? I’ve been pricing similar packages, same tractor in PA. The bundle price seems good. I have 10 acres and 5 to mow regularly and just haven’t been able to justify the $. I do miss having a FEL. Been stalking deals locally used.
That’s not enough power to move round bales. We hunted hard and found a lightly used JD 4052 for 20k with FEL.
According the the product details, the FEL for that tractor can lift just under 1000 lbs. It’s not real comfortable to get close to capacity, but if your round bales are no more than 800#s or you’re moving them very short, flat distances and are more than 800 but less than 1000, you should be okay. Is the rear ballast box included with your FEL? You’ll want it. You’ll also need a bale spear/forks of some sort.
Do you have a Deere dealer/service center closer to you? A good one? Having no service center or a shit one is really no fun at all.
We have a 2320 and it’s been a very nice tractor for us. We don’t have to move big bales anymore, but used to handle 700# squares (for short, flat distances.)
And even if you are using small square bales a lot of them are coming in 21 bale bundles these days. It sure would be a lot easier and faster to pick up the whole bundle and set it on a stack intact rather than bale by bale. I really wish I had bought enough tractor to deal with heavy bales or bundles. You might as well buy a smaller tractor if you won’t have enough FEL capability to handle round bales. Or buy a bigger used tractor.
That is a great price for that package! Do you have to mow the entire 20 acres very often or will you have a small pasture or two?
I am on smaller acreage and have a 2320 and it perfect to get through the small spots on our place. We need to add a snow blade to the collection of attachments because while it would not be used often, it would be a lot faster than the way I clear snow off our driveway with the tractor now.
Probably mowing 12ish acres. And we will have a big ZTR mower to do the bulk of the finish mowing but you have to be able to brush hog the pasture and do light farm work.
Be sure whatever tractor you get has 4wd, that is super on tractors, gets you out of sticky spots.

Lots of information in the Tractor Owning and Operating forum there, including discussions of tractor capabilities, specific implements, etc.
I’ve been using a 3032e on 30 acres, it does everything I need it to do - but I don’t use round bales, so no info on that. I will say it’s a nice handling tractor. I mow, move dirt, drag the arena, pull the spreader, etc with it.
Thank you for that! I have been perusing for 2 hours now over there!
We have the 3025E and have no problems handling round bales.
Similarly, we move round bales all day with an 870. While it’s slightly heavier than the 30xx models (same market niche for JD, but 20 years or so previous), it doesn’t feel at all sketchy.
