I like the M but it’s about a foot more wide. Reviews on the E series are not nearly as good as the M series. Does anyone have any experience with either?
Will be putting on a 520M loader on whichever one of them we get…

Our tractor is an older 5085E, chosen over the M because it was several thousands cheaper.
It has an H260 loader.
Works fine, do miss the right hand door, seems that we were using that door all the time.
oh…EightyFive! Have you ever felt that you wished you had more power, or does yours feel it’s more-than-enough for whatever you do? Does it feel too big ever?
The Es are less $, and about a foot more narrow (i clean out my sheep barn with a front loader, so size is occasionally important.
I was looking at the 5090s but, they are so wide and i have a lot of woods/trails. What size brushhog do you use with it? I’ve a 6’ already, but i’m thinking i could pull a 10.
Unfortunately, i can’t handle a cab i do way too much work in the woods, it wouldn’t last a month!
First, 4 wheel drive is the best, you can work in more sketchy conditions with it.
Our tractor is now years old and has never needed any other than servicing.
Those are good machines overall, but being 4’ 10", it is a bit hard to see what the bucket is doing at times, when a taller person could see better over it.
The seat adjust but for what they tell me, the engineers go by operators not being any shorter than 5’.
We have all the power we need and the cab is mostly because we spend many hours when it rains mowing pens, bar-ditches and field edges, grading roads with our blade, banking around tanks, most days dragging the covered arena and such.
We also have used it to pinch-hit sowing wheat pulling drills when an extra tractor is needed.
Without a cab, with my asthma and allergies, I wore mask and goggles and was still miserable on the previous tractors.
The size of mower for us depends on where we have to mow, can’t get into narrow aisles in pens with a bigger one, I think ours is maybe 8’.
A cab does keep me from getting quite under some barn overhangs, work around that best I may, but we don’t have forest, just mesquite brush, so no real trees to worry about.
An hydraulic post hole digger is the greatest invention, really makes fencing way easier:
Sounds like an excellent machine! Ten more hp…hmmmm…tempting!! I’m trading in two Kubotas, one larger one smaller and this guy is sort of inbetween. My posthole digger is PTO driven, would be lovely to not have to crank my neck around to do the work! But…i usually hire-out my fencing projects.
HOWever to you manage asthma and a farm girl>>>>>!!! cannot imagine.
i’m only 5’0 and have had to drive and hitch implements standing. I don’t know if i’ll be able to slide the seat forward enough to reach the clutch…This will be one of the things i def need to know before signing the check! On my big Kubota i had to sit at the edge of the seat. Such a pain in the ass…literally LOL…
I’m gonna have to go to a deere because they have a dealership 4 miles away. They’ve been servicing my Kubotas for almost 20 years (i think in hopes that someday i’d buy from them…lol). So, i’d prefer to stay orange, but oh well, i’ll adjust. May even be happier!!!who knows?!
I think the 5075 sounds enough power for what you want, there is not much difference there.
Not sure about going up to a 10’ shredder, but it may handle it ok, the dealer should know.
Hydraulic post hole diggers really are 1000+ times, way, way better than the sorry PTO ones.
Ours gets borrowed regularly by those with PTO ones.
Sounds like it may be time to give those nice folks some more business, you are right.
