I am talking about this one : http://www.sporthorseauctions.com/Online-Auction.html
Anyone sold a horse or bought a horse through it? How did it turn out?
I am assuming there are minimums on the horses, is this correct?

Bumping… anyone know anything?
I do know this auction is replacing/combining the Pony Finals Auction normally held in August during the USEF Pony Finals. Sport Horse Auctions has held live auctions and online auctions at different times of the year for many years.
That explains the large amount of ponies this year!
I know this has been run for years, but there still seems to be no info from someone who has bought or sold a horse through it…
I think this is the auction that I bought my mare from…but I think they’ve rebranded it a bit. Mine came through Flashpoint.
I had a pretty good experience, but I also knew of my horse for quite some time before she was put into the auction, so it was less of a gamble. I trusted her seller and I wasn’t disappointed.
The auction folks did make it more stressful as I used the feature to buy before the auction started but they didn’t pass my initial offer on to the seller in the required time so it made getting a vetting really difficult and it all came down to the minute, literally. I was paying for her at 11:59 am and the auction started at 12…you had to finalize payment prior to the start of the auction or she would have had to go through. Nail-biter, I tell ya. Other than that, it was good.
I bought a horse through a Flashpoint auction, a weanling through one of the fall breeder’s auctions last year. The filly is gorgeous, perfect, Premium foal, everything just as her breeder stated. Amazing mover. cannot praise seller enough (a COTH breeder).
I had no issues with the auction but bought during the actual auction itself.
Read the contract very carefully so you understand everything about how it works. Once I signed up to bid I spent a lot of time reading fine print so I knew what I was getting into.
Good to know the good experiences. I think we are going to go ahead and bid. Who knows what will happen though!
I’ve bid on a couple of the auctions over the months, but alas I have yet to get one. The woman I used to board with bought a yearling through the auction. She had a great experience and she picked up the horse with no issue.
How many of these are there per year?
There are some really lovely horses! I am glad I am horse poor and have no empty stalls.
Typically Tim Jennings runs upwards of 7-8+ a year. Tim and his brother Mike jointly owned/ran Professional Auction Services but Tim left to start Flashpoint Bloodstock LLC - http://www.sporthorseauctions.com/
Mike is still behind Professional Auction Services and does strictly Quarter Horse Sales.

Seems to be one a month lately.
