Jump Tape - Anyone used this?

I’m debating on buying some perfect poles but I see that the price for just white poles is significantly less. I have been debating the already striped poles or using this product:

Has anyone used this before? Looking for some input!

My trainer just did poles with regular old duct tape from the hardware store that now comes in a rainbow of colors and even prints-- and they look gorgeous!!!

Ditto - colored duct tape.

I hear that they have duct tape now in animal print… What about removal? Do we think we can just pull the old duct tape off and then clean it off with say GOOP OFF? And then reapply new stuff?

I don’t even know that need need the goop off. After a while the glue gets pretty dry, I think you could lightly sand and then re-paint. Or… put more new duct tape on top.

I did the dover tape and it was a PIA to put on and didn’t look so good after one season. Colored duck tape is a fabulous idea

Thanks Gold Ponies! I’ve seen it at the store and was like ‘how could this really work’. It sort of looked like Saran Wrap and we all know what a disaster that stuff is.

Does anyone have any photos of the poles that are coloured with duct tape? I love how simple it sounds… just can’t picture what the finished product would look like. ie, is it really noticeable?

I’ve used colored duck tape. Here are a few poles. You can see the blue paint that was all chipped that I was trying to cover. I got these poles from a lesson barn that was moving.

Oops, ran out of tape. http://tinypic.com/r/2637scl/8

PrimoAmor your poles look amazing. Ours with duct tape don’t look half as nice.

I found electrical tape works better. The duct tape at the hardware store eventually dries out and peels off. Especially left in the sun over the summer.
Electrical tape isn’t overly ‘gummy’ but sticks well to clean poles, has yet to dry out.

Love the anima print. It looks better than paint to be honest. My biggest problem is…well… I can draw a straight line with a laser level and a chalk line…

I saw these at a farm I had tried a horse at, and they looked great. Thought it was a cool idea, like a slipcover for rails. http://www.jumpgearetc.com/shop/

Just to throw another idea out there.

Just have to say-- I love that name-- 50ShadesofHay! Brilliant!

I have used the jump rail tape, it works way better than duct tape, which doesn’t last very long. It is a bit tricky to put on (need two people and some technique) but it lasts well and looks good.
