Jumper Ring Attire for when it’s hot

I have an extremely short torso. Low rise breeches fit more like a mid/high rise on me. Because of this, when I wear a show shirt or polo tucked into breeches I look like I have no upper body. It drives me CRAZY in photos.
So when it’s not 95 degrees out I just wear a jacket and it solves this issue. But it’s so hot out. I’m hoping COTH has some fashionable suggestions for a solution. As it’s jumpers I just want it to look nice.

When I was in high school my instructor had me wear a show vest in hunters, but I can’t find one anymore.

If you wore a sun shirt that matched the color of your breeches, it should help to visually elongate your body. I think one of those bib sun/show shirts and a pair of breeches that matched the color of the shirt would look pretty sharp.

What about wearing a cooling vest? Kill two birds with one stone - stay cooler and still have the vest-look elongating your torso.

Yeah if I have to tuck it in I look really stupid. I have sun shirts, it’s really that I need to hide how high up the breeches come on me

Oh that may work! I’ll have to see what they have out there

There are some dressage vest options out there that would probably work. https://theharnessshoponline.com/romfh-bling-dressage-vest/

Thank you!! I never thought to look under dressage.

Have you tried the AA Motionlite jacket or the mesh Horse Pilot one? I’m sure there are many others out there. They are incredibly light weight and may even be more breathable than a vest and help you achieve that elongated torso “look”.

Seconding @Rumorhasit93. The mesh coats were game changers for me, even in Florida (granted, I showed there in the winter this year, and I know from growing up there that summer is a whole different ball game). But I would still rather add a light layer of mesh than heavier fabric over my core in that heat. Plus, with a coat, you could wear a short sleeve or sleeveless show shirt if you really had too.

I have several (too many) mesh show jackets. I love them for when it’s not sweltering out, but when it gets above 90 I really need to have my arms out. The area I live in is blessed with a constant breeze, so I’ve found that if my arms are out I stay considerably cooler.
