So after a whole lifetime of riding hunters I am about to sell my girl and am starting to want to move to jumpers. I love my hunters and there is still nothing so beautiful to me as a braided round jumping 10+ moving hunter. But I’m ready to do something else and my mare is 150% hunter and a little small for me so she isn’t going to be able to go try something else out with me. My problem is that I don’t really know where to go. I have been doing the Adults and A/Os (3’3 sometimes) for years so am not a beginner rider by any means but other than riding friend’s horses I don’t have any experience in the jumpers. I have done a couple of smaller derbies locally. So, I don’t need beginner riding lessons but won’t own a horse so would need to go somewhere with the ability to lesson on a sale horse/school horse. I would even lease to ride with a jumper trainer and go from there. Any ideas? I want to move up through to rated stuff eventually but obviously I am not there yet and am not going to buy a horse until I really know I want to stick with a new discipline and that I can actually do it. lol. Suggestions?
