At the farm where I board it is very hard to avoid touching an electric fence wire. Researching on line (I know) all sources say that the current of farm fence wire is 120 milliamps and therefore not dangerous to humans, but all sources for electric shock hazard state that anything in the neighborhood of 10 milliamps is quite dangerous and over 100 milliamps can kill you. So either I’m missing something or I’m actually dead and just think I’m alive…
How can it be hard to avoid touching the fence?!?!

Electric fences pulsate, so your exposure to the current is less than a second.
But, yeah, I’d give serious thought as to why touching hot wire is unavoidable. In a normal setup, that’s just not the case.

Good to remember, thanks! (Not unavoidable, merely an effort-- it is not a normal setup.)
