Just for fun: What are your favorite Tack Catalogs?

I’m a catalog fiend. I love receiving catalogs related to horse tack, equipment, vet care, equipment etc.

What are some of the catalogs that you receive?

I like Malvern Saddlery although I haven’t received one in several years. I think they just send one when you buy something from them, although I’m sure you could email a request for one.

Smart pak!

Smartpak and Dover of course (:

As a kid I got the Miller’s and Kaufman’s catalogues (may they rest in peace). I pored over them page by page, studying and reading descriptions of many things I did not own, do not own now and will never own, but I learned a lot from just reading the catalogues, especially the bits, the different kinds of spurs, training aids, and all the first aid, hoof remedies and supplements. Catalogues can provide quite a bit of education. I’d never seen a German Martingale in person but at one point when I was about 25 and riding for a sales barn, my boss handed me one and told me to use it; I knew exactly how it went on, because I’d seen it in the catalogue!

Dover is my guilty pleasure. Drooling over expensive saddles is a definite weakness of mine.

Beval

Dover, SmartPak, Dressage Extensions, Bit of Britain

When I just want to drool over pretty things and pretend that I could buy whatever I want - Dover. When I actually want to look at things to purchase and compare items - SmartPak.

I agree with this and had a similar experience with a neck stretcher that was to be used on a horse when I was riding for the barn!

I agree with the Miller’s catalog and used to love reading it in detail and marking my wish list items as a child.

Today, I love State Line, SmartPak and Dover, however, with a Dover store 2 miles away, I have to be careful to avoid the catalog and the subsequent purchases that ensue!

Smart Pak, Dover, and Bit of Britain!! Though I never order anything from Dover. Bit of Britain is close to me so I will go to the store after checking out the catalog.

I wish they wouldn’t waste the paper and mailing fees, plus their prices could be lower also. Kills me to have to recycle all that stuff, which keeps coming no matter how many times I try to opt out. All that product info is online when I need it. Dover is the worst because their catalog is so extensive yet they never have ANYTHING that I want in stock at the brick-and-mortar store. Drove there 25 miles recently to look at saddles and despite the wide selection in the catalog all they had was a hundred crappy Wintecs and Marcel Toulouse saddles.

I like to order my horse meds/supplies from Jeffers Equine or Valley Vet…they often have free shipping and their vaccines and wormers are usually priced well. They don’t have much as far as hunter/jumper attire but for your typical ointments, lotions, and potions they are great!

I like Back in the Saddle. They have nice gift and decor stuff.
