So I am on a trip and have been in Aiken for 3 weeks. This week my 10 year old 3/4 ton Suburban decided to cause me angst by taking longer to start and it makes me believe the fuel pump may be going out. I have a 19 hour drive home so decided to throw it in the shop to have it looked at except there are no rental cars available . While it’s fine right now, I don’t want to get stuck and I was due to leave this weekend. Oh that’s another thing. No one could get to it until Mon. So praying I will have awhile until the pump for real gives out (our old F150 dicked around for 6 months before the fuel pump called it quits) I joined US Rider and hopefully they can help if I get stuck. Hopefully my experience will be good…hopefully I won’t need them!
you might want to check/replace? the fuel pump relay, it is in the fuse box
I had the relay become defective, it randomly would not start before the relay failed completely…it is an under $15 part
Good luck with US rider . I had them for 15 years and after they left me stranded the third time with horses I switched to TrailGuard
I also switched to Trailguard after two terrible experiences with US Rider.
Good luck with whatever is going on under the hood!
Yeah I feel between a rock and a hard place right now. Did you have the regular or premium? I’m just trying to have SOMEONE to call if I get stuck. My friend who has US Rider said she arranged her own towing and US Rider reimbursed her.
I had premium. A lot friends on where you are.
They left me stranded on the side of the interstate in SC one of the times. I had to find my own towing for the truck and trailer and find my own transportation and accommodations for myself and 3 horses.
Did they reimburse you?
Nope. Not one dime.
When they left me stranded, they didn’t reimburse me but they gave me 2 months free service (pushed my renewal date back by 2 months).
After 8 years of membership, I decided not to renew because I am not trailering out much these days.
That’s interesting because my friend when she used them, they couldn’t find towing, she found towing and they paid for it. hum.
nope… i dont remember what cockamamie excuse they gave but nope. I got on my cell phone all by myself and found 2 wreckers, got the truck towed and my LQ with horses towed to a farm that i also found online by myself that allowed me to stay there in my LQ with the horses until my truck was fixed. US Rider gave me some crap they had no service providers in the area.
ANd good luck with them listening when you actually tell them where you are. I had them send a tow truck to the other side of the state once, when i gave them the interstate I was on, the mile marker and the nearest town.
oh i think they sent me a box of chocolates after one of those. Whoopee.
