Just made my first ignore list!

Edward…

…sorry we cross posted.

Do yourself a favor and spend a week or two catching up on Bluey’s posts! You will learn a lot!

It is because “someone runs out of answers”?

Interesting take. Be careful not to hurt your arm patting yourself on the back.[/QUOTE]

Oh, yes, I was writing that with a certain poster in mind, that had just done that.
My literal mind at times plays those tricks on me if I don’t pay attention.
Sorry, I forget at times that others can’t read my mind, should explain myself better.

Thanks for reminding me to be more clear.

No-one on my ignore list. Am I on anyone’s? Guess I’ll never know.

I used to think about putting SLC on mine, her long rambling “books” just got on my nerves, but then thought about it, and realized I needed to understand the comments to her from other posters I would need to read, or breeze through, what she wrote.

But now she’s gone. Ah well.

And Thomas? While I thought he was a wonderful horseman, I think his approach to some was demeaning, nasty and unneeded. Why not take the time to be a little kinder to get your approach across? He had so much knowledge for newby horse owners, such a shame…

Maybe Thomas was GM’s alter.

I put someone on ignore once, I just couldn’t stand it anymore. And then they died. So it was a moot point.

Only one person on my ignore list. And just FYI guys, if someone on your list posts, as you go through threads it’ll say “Post hidden because JaneDoe is on your ignore list” and you can click a button to make the post appear if you feel like dealing with it.

Huh. Good to know. Thanks.

We better stay on your good side then, oh my.

LOL, I had the exact same thought (except I don’t recall Thomas ever being crude, just sharp, and GM covers all bases there!)

No. GM, even on his shrillest, most bitchy days, has more class in his little finger than Thomas could ever hope to have. No comparison.

I’m guessing that was county. If so, I’m with you - I had him on “ignore” also.

And after thirteen thousand posts, I’m sure I’ve made my share of others’ ignore lists. Par for the course.

Carry on.

We must have been ignoring the same person…

We can learn from every single person in life. I would never presume to think otherwise.

As this individual has somehow managed to find the time to author over 18 thousand posts, it’s doubtful I would live long enough to take in the volumes of enlightenment I’m sure they all offer.
Sadly,I will have to resign myself to a state of blissful ignorance…but thank you for your interest in my education.

Coreene We can learn from every single person in life. I would never presume to think otherwise.

I agree with you Coreene. I force myself to hear and contemplate the opinions of others that do not immediately mirror my own. I also attempt to broaden my knowledge and consider viewpoints that are not in my wheelhouse.

I guess it will be a familiar state to you.

I only ignore those folks who have shown time and time again that they don’t have any original thoughts in their heads or tend to check their manners at the door…

Or I give myself a break lest not I forget my manners…

I know I have one person on ignore. Maybe two. I just got so sick of trying to muddle through the posts going :confused: through the whole thing so on to the ignore list they went

I have exactly one person on ignore, because she was absolutely awful and hateful at one point (not to me, by the way). If someone had said the same things in real life, I would also refuse to associate with them.

On the other hand, there are several people who grate on my nerves with 99% of their posts but who I continue to read (or at least skim) both because it makes the conversation flow better and because I think it’s an important skill in life to be able to take the good parts even from those with whom you vehemently disagree. If you only converse with those who hold the same opinions as you do, then you aren’t ever going to grow or learn.

Plus, sometimes it makes me feel like a better person to be able to bite my tongue instead of telling someone what I really think of them…

Edward is ignoring one of the following people:
Poster:----------------------Number of posts:
Janet------------------------30,733
deltawave-------------------26,052
JB ---------------------------25,375
slc2--------------------------24,409
findeight---------------------24,227
DMK--------------------------21,388
DressageGeek “Ribbon Ho”-19,153
MistyBlue---------------------19,056
Coreene-----------------------18,902
Bluey-------------------------18,616

Meh, I had two, one got banned for being just so wrong on so many levels on the dressage forum. The other is still there, I think, in her OCD esque haze, it’s been so long I can’t be sure.

If you’re noisy enough someone will ignore you, eventually. It’s all good.
