Are we sure Saint’a Boy = Saint Boy? Saint’a Boy is listed as a stallion. I thought I read the one in the pentathlon was a gelding (unless he was gelding and the FEI records were not updated?)
Yeah I know that in other countries people generally jump higher. I can only really speak anecdotally but people I meet from countries where the lowest you can compete is .85m and you have to move up each year have all said that they wish their countries had cross rail classes like we do lol and how nice it would’ve been if that’s where they could’ve started. I’m sure that’s not true for everyone but it’s something I hear a loooot from all the South American amateurs and even professionals I meet. I taught a lady the other day from Spain that jumped the 1.45m that couldn’t put a horse on the bit. Idk just seems odd to me. I also feel like in a lot of other countries where amateurs are jumping pretty high their horses are being schooled by professionals nearly every day, the trainers honestly ride the horses more than the owners do. Which makes a big big difference and is not as common in the US.
Maybe Americans do have a hang up on height but idk I think it really does matter for most riders and horses. I feel like saint boy almost certainly would’ve cleared that course at .85 with the same ride. Or even like 1.0m. But mistakes hurt more when the jumps are higher and sometimes it just takes one moment to ruin a horse.
That same question was brought up by commentators on my community’s FB board. One also noted that the horse in the reports about the aftermath of the incident had different markings than those described in Saint’a Boy’s FEI record. I haven’t done any research into the whole thing so I can’t comment. Interesting if it is actually the case.
Yes, I too got surprised about that but then again their records could be outdated. My gelding is also listed as stallion on 2 official sites (not FEI though), even though he got gelded years ago.
Yes, but in those shows, you’re dealing with experienced riders, like at Medal finals and the World Cup. With a few exceptions, it appears the MP riders have very rudimentary skills and use their time training in the other four events.
None.
Someone (many years back) kept going in and changing the breeding of a horse I own, when what was there was accurate (the breeder put it up and it is on his papers). It could not be a case of mistaken identity because his information included his registration ID number.
I fixed it a couple of times, and whoever that person was would change it back. I finally just gave up. I have no idea what it looks like now.
No, I wouldn’t say the experience level is like this at the shows I specifically referenced. And to be crystal clear, since it apparently wasn’t as clear to everyone else as it was to me when I wrote it: I’m not comparing it to MP. I was responding to the post that seemed so surprised/skeptical that this format of drawing a horse and going around jumping a course of this particular height is feasible for anyone.
Right! Plus why does she think anyone outside of Hollywood would even know who she is or be aware of her Instagram posts. She’s not exactly Jennifer Lopez or Tom Cruise.
You’re kidding right? In the US, the weekly viewing of final series was around 17 million per episode. The Big Bang Theory ran for 12 years so that’s a lot of eyeballs, even if they were recurring viewers.
There is reason why actors want to break into “film”.
I doubt many people outside the US and Canada other than TBBT fans know who she is. My mom didn’t have a clue and shes seen the show and is also an equestrian.
You can’t judge fame off instagram follower numbers
Confession: I’m a pop culture idiot so until this post I assumed that Kaley Cuoco was a famous HJ rider. Not sure where I got that from. Like I said, idiot!
