Hi everyone! Has anyone ever used Kambarbay (Akhal Teke eventing stallion in the U.K.), or has anyone ever had experience with him or his offspring?
Props if you’re in the US and have shipped his frozen over, and could share your experience!
He stands (imported frozen semen) through Sweetwater akhal teke, if no one else chimes in, I’d suggest you check with them. The breeder/owner there is probably one of your best resources for teke knowledge.
He is AES registered and there is a US office for AES in Wellington Fl that might be able answer your questions. He stands at the Solaris Sporthorse Stud in Scotland and you could contact them direct about any American contacts or offspring.
From limited personal experience of the breed, which has a lot to recommend it, they can have flat feet (think poor TB feet).
Parkfield Breeding, here the UK, www.parkfieldbreeding.com has a 2019 palomino by him and they are thrilled with it. Lots of pictures on Facebook.
I’m not too far from Solaris so have seen quite a few Kambarbay youngsters and ridden a couple. In fact there’s a lovely 4yo for sale locally that I’m quite tempted by… I also love his stallion son out of a little welsh mare, a 13.2 near clone of his dad!
The ones I’ve dealt with have all been nicely put together, solid all round types who could turn a hoof to anything, eventing, endurance, riding club etc. Nothing spectacular but all with really super amateur friendly temperaments.
