Kate (Katherine Leigh) Ostermeier Situation

While I can understand the anger towards Wendy for the concessions she was forced to make that caused her to overstep her bounds, I can also understand the desperation and the willingness to do anything necessary to insure her horse’s safety. I am sorry to hear that many of the mare owner’s are washing their hands of the mess once their particular horses are safe. There is safety in numbers and all the victims need to stick together for the greater good to make sure this doesn’t happen to anyone else in the future.

From Vivian Hill and Doni Biggs: Vivian and I wish to eulogize an amazing Warrior. She lost her fight today…she has crossed over.
Her name was LICORICE (“Lydia”)
Her Pedigree: Galoubet-Abdullah Her Heart: Huge!
Please Rest In Peace, lovely Girl.
Our condolences to Amanda…you surely tried to save her. She sure did too.

Official diagnosis was osteomyelitis. Her foot bones were dissolving from bacterial infection caused by long untreated cellulitis. Massive antibiotics could not save her. She saw the best vets and equine podiatry specialists.

Doni wished to thank Stoneybrooke Farm for their valiant efforts.

This makes me so sad for all those who loved this mare. I can’t even imagine…
I am a little confused as to what happened with Zena, but glad she is out of that setting. [edit]

So so sad for Lydia and her connections. RIP sweet girl.
Another proof of the lack of care by KO. Kindness towards her?? never. I hope she suffers as much if not more than the horses did. Karma works in wonderful ways. Do not give up the fight because she gave up Zena… I am sure she had ulterior motives and did not do from the good of her heart. People like her have NO heart.
There is something about selling your soul to the devil… hoping Wendy did not…

Does anyone know of a chestnut mare at KO’s named Providential ?

She’s not my horse; I read she was sold to KO and am wondering where she is in this situation.

how does someone look at that everyday and just do nothing?? No excuse in the world can justify that. What a monster.

Is that the poor horse whose foot was caught in the bucket in that other awful picture?

Just unbelievably cruel and heartless!

No this was a different horse. The mare with the hoof caught in the bucket lived but will never come back to full soundness.

Perhaps ab2002 was the Kate’s investor, the one who was sending her $20K a month? He seems to be the only one defending her, and suggesting that she be ‘left alone.’ There is absolutely no excuse for letting horses get into the condition these horses were in. If she couldn’t afford to care for them properly at any point, the owners should have been contacted. To think that Mr. Woschenko would excuse this behavior and situation, and suggest everyone ‘leave Kate alone’ is outrageous.

does anyone have an update on where the horses are now and if kate is still around?

I have no update on any horses, but yes, she is still around. Unfortunately, I spotted her about 3 days ago.
She may not spend her money on food for her horses but she spends it onfood for herself…

and i hear that her new partner in crime (now she wants to get into the tb industry) Tres Delafource is trying to breed their mares to TB stallions around town.

KY needs to read up

on how other parts of the world set an example.

As to the question put out here, KO was evicted then set up shop in other counties (AC only works per each individual county in KY). Like the unemployment and tax cheats it is beneficial to know how to circumvent the laws.

This is interesting fodder http://www.mcafee.cc/Bin/sb.html
