The cell phone incident was in public.
I think many of the naysayers deep down wish they had her gumption, looks and spirit.
I would not trade my life for hers for millions of dollars. Besides, I ride better and that’s what really counts:yes:

Really, riding a horse better than someone else is what ‘really’ counts to you. OK, good luck with that!!
No one said that you should want to trade your life with hers, simply that a lot of people who don’t like her should ask themselves of they have her willingness to ‘give it a go’.
So she was ‘using’ her phone in that manner in public eh? Not that she was using it and someone captured it on video and then aired it publically? What was the forum? And was she simulating it or really doing it?
Just google Katie Price and cell phone and you can see the pictures yourself. I have no idea if it’s a joke or not, but it’s a shameless display of “giving it a go” with a cell phone.
I do not want her gumption, looks, or spirit, and I do not want to give it a go in any of the ways she does. I do not have a bit of jealousy toward her, and I don’t appreciate people saying I don’t like her because I’m jealous or don’t give it a go with 100% of the passion that she does.
I can be really clear what I don’t like about her since people seem to want motivation.
I hate what she stands for: the plastic surgeon’s Barbie, big boobed, phonied up troll doll who makes a living selling sex. It’s a degradation to women. I don’t like what society has done to women that makes them pander to the cameras in embarrassing ways just to sell some pink bling and nudie shots.
I work as hard as Katie Price, behind the scenes, treating abused children and rescuing horses. I give it a go 24 hours a day, living on the property, taking care of the horses and kids, and raising a family. We see kids who have suffered the abuse or worse that Katie Price has, kids whose parents have been killed, who have been tossed around from foster home to foster home, who have been sexually and physically traumatized, who have their own children when they are 14 or 15. We work diligently to give them some confidence, some self-esteem and some self-respect. We do good work.
When I see someone like KP acting like an utter ass, I see someone with no self-respect, someone who is not doing society an ounce of good, and who will likely leave the world a worse place than when she came into it, because she has propagated the image of women as shallow twits who sell their looks to get by.
What bugs me about Oprah is how she’s all about benevolence, but then has to do a tv special to share with all and sundry about how truly benevolent she is and how we all need to know she has done good. Narcisco, what you do is your own choice, and does not make you a better person than, say, Katie Price.

I think we probably all qualify as better people. She’s a trainwreck.
People in glass houses, etc.
Wow. That’s pretty much all I have in response. And yes, if you google her name you can find the cell phone pics. And a pic of a liquor bottle somewhere it doesn’t belong. That’s kinda… special…
Man you guys get heated over what other people’s opinions are. I just read posts on here from time to time and occasionally ask questions in regards to things like breeches and saddles. This thread is a whole different world!
Regardless of which side of the fence you’re on for her making it to the Olympics, I just want to say it is statistically against her to make an Olympic team with the amount of FEI riders in her country versus the number of spots open on the team.

Choosing to thumb ones nose at social convention does not make one a bad person. Nor does choosing to adhere to social convention make one a good person.
Eh, as a celeb gossip aficionado, I know all about KP and the cell phone. Since we have some Brits on my gossip board, they always keep us updated with what she’s doing. I wouldn’t have a clue as to who she was if it weren’t for them. From what I’ve seen, and I’ve been reading about her for awhile, she’s trying to clean up her image. I’m all for second chances with people and she seems exceptionally deserving. She’s a mom of a special needs child and an animal lover. Can I ride better than her? Yes. But can she fill out her dressage coat way better than I can ever imagine? Definitely!

I would of thought that someone with your background would be alot more opened minded.
Im not sure what any of your good doings have to do with Katie Price riding dressage and wanting to go to the Olympics.

since you are working with the abused for what ever reasons you have and your entitled to have your reasons in the way you think by what you do…but look at it from another angle when ones abused a as you very well know like all things it effect people different ways dont ever think she hasnt suffered and it hasnt effected her as it has and its that which has made her the perosn she is today she used hers to make self a better life and shes fought all the way in other words
she showing those that have been abused you can stand up and be counted
whatever your background
and i would also like to mention some of her money she earns goes to charaties for the very same that employ people like yourself
katie has every right to do her thing in her own hobbies if she choses dressage then good luck t her
Why is it so important to you that people agree with you that Katie Price is so great? Why insult people who don’t? Can’t people see it differently from you?
Hmmmm. This reminds me of the movie “Happy Gillmore”. Soon there will be crowds of beer-guzzling God’s-gift-to-woman painting slogans on their bare hairy chests and shouting encouraging slogans like “Show us your some technical term”. And I’m quite sure that technical term won’t be “piaffe”.
Can’t you just imagine if she came to the US - how many men would be inviting their wives to dressage shows.
Can you just see how all the women riders would react to have a crowd full of men watching all their dressage shows?
Just thinking about this makes me laugh.
I am going to be riding my dressage tests at the show this weekend thinking about this. Hope I don’t burst out laughing.
You actually think more people will go to shows that wouldn’t normally just to watch KP? I find that hard to beleive.

There is something strangely close minded about some of the responses.
There’s a big difference between thumbing one’s nose at convention and thumbing one’s Happy Gillmore. When she chooses to open her privates to the public, she full well knows how stupid she is being (I hope). She deliberately offends to provoke these kind of discussions under the premise “all publicity is good publicity,” which means money.
I just can’t see KP as a role model for anyone, abused or otherwise. I don’t know how you define good people, but bad deed motivated by greed does not add up. I do feel better that she plans to grow up.

I define good people the way buddha did, by what’s in their hearts and what they do for their fellow man. Not by what they do with their privates.
Good men and bad men differ radically. Bad men never appreciate kindness shown them, but wise men appreciate and are grateful. Wise men try to express their appreciation and gratitude by some return of kindness, not only to their benefactor, but to everyone else.

Absolutely.
Here in Columbus, we have a soccer team. Two years ago, they were lucky to have people in the stands… except for that one game where the LA Galaxy came to play. You know, the team David Beckham had JUST joined.
Sold out weeks before the game.
Celebrities are big business.
AHAHAHAHAA, sorry, just happened upon this thread in some forum perusing… A little late to the game I suppose, but this thread has made me laugh and laugh.
I honestly had no idea who Katie Price was (I’m in the U.S.) but had heard some mention of her in other threads. Soo, I looked her up and looked up some videos of her riding… That’s where the real laughing began.
I really don’t care if she’s famous or trashy or what, who am I to judge? If you want to ride, ride. I don’t care if you’re a tad non-traditional (to say the least). But judging by her riding… I must say I agree with those that think she doesn’t have a snowman’s chance in you know where of getting to the Olympics.
To be fair, however, she really did give a little look that meant she knew the comment was a tad silly. So, I’m not going to judge too harshly. But really people, it’s understandable how this would be hilarious to some of us… I don’t think that makes me a bad person at ALL. And especially if she’s been riding since she was six… yikes.
Sure in my little heart of hearts I think I may have the makings of an Olympian, unfortunately, due to my current schedule and student loan payoffs, it’s unlikely to happen ever, or at least until I’m getting a bit advanced in age (more likely never though, haha). But hey, every horse girl wants to ride in the Olympics. Really though, I’m a much more accomplished than her and look to have more talent, and I know that’s pretty much a pipe dream.
Hahaa, just a little laugh again. Olympics… Hahahahaaaaahahahaa. But hey, if it gets the hubbies a little more excited to come to the dressage shows, shoot, I don’t care if he looks = ) With all that hair and makeup and bling, who wouldn’t? Not to mention some of her other surgically altered assets. Yipes! I’m a girl and I can’t avoid staring! Haha.
