Katie Price aka Jordan restate her Olympic ambitions (**Video**)

I’m just amazed that in over 20,000 posts we have not been graced with one picture.

I mean, Katie Price has apparently only been doing it for three months but she has managed to make it not only into a picture or two but even onto youtube!

As for KP, I can not imagine the cajones it must take for her to step into the ring. Most of us have the privilege of learning anonymously. Nobody knows who we are when we step in the ring until we get really, really good.

She has all eyes on her, and half of the people watching seem to be bent on finding every flaw and criticizing every last detail.

I didn’t know Barbie came out in riding option.

This forum would be infinitely more entertaining and educational if every thread didn’t degenerate into an slc vs. the world grudgewank.

Really.

I don’t know any of you, but having read this forum on occasion to try and gain a little insight into the dressage world, it’s terribly distracting to wade through it time and time again. Hell, it’s all been said so many times that it’s not even witty anymore.

What’s the point?

Am I the only person who hasn’t a clue who this woman is?
It takes a lot of courage to go into that electric atmosphere
at her level, but why didn’t someone tell her that the outfit
is horrid - really, too much bling on that shadbelly! and no
stocktie makes it look worse. Someone forgot to tell her that
it is all about the horse, not the makeup or clothes.

If folks would like to address the content of posts made by others, as it relates to the main topic, feel free, but please avoid going down the personal commentary path.

Thanks,
Mod 1

I think Katie Price has a long hard road ahead of her, and if she’s going to make it it will take every ounce of determination she has. I wish her luck

For all her millions, I’m surprised she can’t afford a hairnet (one of my pet peeves - such a little item but makes such a difference!).

I also can’t stand seeing riders madeup like they’re about to hit the clubs

Nope! You’re not the only one … we can make up an apparent minority of two.

There is a time and a place for anyone to buck the trend - she has chosen hers and I say more power to her. I am sure that she can afford to buy the best and she has chosen to do it her way.

While I would not necessarily dress like her, I do have that streak to buck the trend too.

My way is to ride and breed horses that are not necessarily the main stream but draw attention where ever they are. I am pretty sure I am the only one showing draft crosses in csha shows and I know I am the only one showing them in dressage gear instead of the customary hunter attire.

I bet she is having a blast doing what she is doing, loves all the attention and loves her horses. Not that she is snubbing the establishment, just ruffling it up a bit. I can definitely relate. You go girl!!!

…three !!!

dotneko…you and I must hang out in the same cave. I have no idea who this person is either! But, dressage is not an easy sport, even if you have the money and opportunity. I wish anyone in this sport, a hearty good luck for success. (And a reminder to enjoy the journey, no matter how far one gets!)

I have to admit I even googled her and I STILL don’t know
who she is.
I really do live in a cave - my husband and I just returned
from Disney World and there were lots of references to High
School Musical III - I did not see I or II - but there were a
lot of screaming teens who did.

Actually, she said “If you put enough time and effort into it and if you’ve got the right horse, I don’t see why you can’t do it. Anyone can do anything if they set their mind to it.”

She sounds sincere and dedicated. Good luck to her, I hope she achieves her goals.[/QUOTE]

I agree. From this video and other articles, it sounds like she really is in it for the long run and enjoys riding.

She is the UK’s rendition of our Pamela Anderson, but KP rides horses and Pam doesn’t (well, not the equine version that is). If KP would play the “proper” horsewoman part, she could do a great deal to promote this sport. After all, it is not everyday that you see a celebrity compete at her level.

and why exactly does she have to confirm to a version of “proper”??? Because the “Powers that be” say so. I think not.

What happened to being an individual. She is definitely drawing a great deal of attention to the sport. As long as she is not breaking any rules, what difference does it make if she wants to individualize and express herself as she sees fit.

You guys, just so you know… That particular ride was an exhibition ride, as in theatrics, as in entertainment… hence the over the top glitz and make-up.

She doesn’t, but it sure would be nice if she would set a good example for my young daughters who are becoming horsey.

What is she doing that isn’t “proper” in your opinion?

I just think it’s pretty funny that on the dailymail site - clicky - there’s a shot of her horse hollowed out, obviously spooking or otherwise misbehaving and the caption reads “Prancing…Katie Price has been riding since she was seven” or something to that effect.

I’m really playing devil’s advocate here - but is it her responsibility to set a good example for your daughters - I would think that would be your job.
