Kent and Masters for long leg?

Anyone with a long thigh have or tried the Kent and Masters with surface block? I can’t find one to try but have an opportunity to buy one.

I need a 17” for my horse’s back but My leg doesn’t fit in many saddles. Just sold my Vinici for that reason. So I don’t know how a long thigh fits with the surface block on this saddle.

I have one! I got rid of my last dressage saddle purely because the block didn’t fit my thigh at all, it was just what I had available at the time (for context: I have the same inseam as my brother who is 6’1”. I’m four inches shorter than he is). The K&M has been a lot better for my leg—I had some minor interference when I first started riding in it just because I’d been in my jump saddle (which has a long extra-forward flap) for ages and had to train my leg to be longer again, but once I got my stirrups down to something resembling a proper dressage length the blocks were perfectly fine.

I did get lucky in that I bought it from another boarder at my barn and got to ride in it for a month and have our fitter look at it before purchase, but it’s definitely worked well for me so far. Would recommend if you’re not looking to spend an arm and a leg (lol) to get something compatible with a long femur.

Thank you!! That is very helpful to know. I was worried the block would be too long and my knee would hit it. But it sounds like the block is short enough to land above the leg?
And you took your normal seat size?
Does the saddle feel very confining or do you still have some room in it? I don’t tend to like saddles that are too confining and with giant blocks etc.

My knee only runs into it if I have my stirrups hiked up too much (and it’s only a small bit of interference in that situation), but when I’m at dressage length it ends at a comfortable place relative to my knee and doesn’t get in the way at all. I definitely don’t feel any interference in it in terms of posting and whatnot, which I do sometimes have an issue with in saddles with huge blocks. I honestly don’t really notice the blocks at all except for when my horse really wants to haul on me (race-trained TB, he’s still learning to sit and lift his front end at the canter) and then they come in handy haha.

I’m also actually in a seat size half an inch smaller than my jump saddle and I don’t have any issues with feeling trapped or anything like that. The first time I sat in it to test-ride my trainer immediately commented on how much better my position was because nothing was getting in the way of me being able to sit properly.

I have a long femur. I love my Custom saddles both of which have short blocks so my knee can go under them.
