Looking for boarding suggestions in Lexington Kentucky area, must have turnout and stall. I have somewhat of a special needs horse. Would consider leasing a barn and home as well…
Need more info for meaningful advice. Straight boarding or trainer and lessons available? Need jumps? Willing yo share barn with multiple disciplines or what discipline are you looking for? How far are you willing to drive? Ballpark budget?
Outside of Lex proper, the state is pretty rural (with the exception of Louisville and Northern Ky across the river from Cincy) it’s a poor state without the level of services you might be used to around large, urban areas. Some move out to their own farmette get lonesome real quick and local politics might be…not what you are used to.
Research carefully.
I am in a multidisciplinary barn now, so that would be fine or a hunter/jumper barn. I would like to find a trainer but am also willing to trailer in for lessons. I would not want to be more than 35 minutes away from the barn where my horse is living but am willing to drive a distance for lessons (I used to drive 2 hours away for lessons). Right now I pay $700 a month for board. We have multiple horses, so either boarding or renting a farm is fine.
Where are you that should be 35 min from the barn if you choose to board? It’s not a big town but 35 min could get you 35 miles out or not even off New Circle.

We are not living in KY yet. But would be in Lexington area if hubby takes a job at UK.
