Kentucky PrePurchase - Parking Question

Purchasing tickets for Kentucky next year for a couple friends and I. It will be our first year going, and we are super excited.

My question is about the standard parking vs preferred parking.

I cannot seem to find clarification on preferred pricing. Does anyone know if it’s per person or per vehicle? Does preferred allow you to exit quicker after the day is over? Any other perks to it?

Thanks!

I can answer 1 question,

Per vehicle.

Not sure about speed. It is closer to the trade fair, so easier to drop off goodies throughout the day if you plan on doing alot of shopping.

Preferred parking is the way to go! It’s per vehicle and you get to park close on pavement. It makes it a lot easier to get out of the park especially on cross country day. Cross country parking is usually literally a mile away in a massive field it’s a beast to get back there after walking cross country the whole day.

I will say I parked in General Admission parking in 2023 and boy that was a hike to drop off purchased items midday. And I am very fit.

Yellow star was my car

Red arrow = XC course

Green Circle is the Rolex arena

Yikes! That’s quite the hike. My husband and I were at the park this past autumn for a visit. Do you know where the preferred parking was? Was it where the main horse park parking is?

The yellow highlight is where it was this year. We did buy early so I’m not sure if a later purchase would be further away.

This is the first year I purchased preferred parking and it was totally worth every penny. Parking is in the main lot for the horse park. I walked into the horse park next to the saddlebred Museum and that was right by the trade fair getting out on cross country Day was a breeze, they had attendants waving you in and out, so there was no traffic jam. You can go to your car during the day to drop off purchases. They stamp your hand as you are leaving so you have in and out privileges.

Here’s a view of how close to Iron Works Pike I was.

I bite the bullet and get the preferred parking pass every year and am always glad to have it. Getting in and out is so easy, and it doesn’t matter what the weather is or what kind of car you have because you are parking on pavement not in the grassy field. We go back forth to our car almost daily to drop off purchases, get another jacket, etc . . . and are always glad to be right by the entrance that’s behind the trade fair in the covered arena. I think they have the capacity for parking passes figured out now, because we are always in that front section.

The vendors for the trade fair should support a purchase car delivery shuttle for shoppers! People would purchase more.

You should mention that to the Horse Park.
