I’m staying near Buffalo Trace distillery and all tours are booked for the 24th. Bummer. I got on the waitlist for a morning tour. Then head to KHP for the horse inspection.

Found the hill and sponsor village here!! So between these 2 leads, I think we can see everything.
ALSO! This map has the XC Course!! (under the overall event facility map)
I would email them directly. I did that and they were kind enough to accommodate my group despite being booked online.
Owners want 5 stars but riders are desperate for the Olympics as a medal is useful especially in the states for future business. Here in the UK an Olympic medal winner is not so impressive as the competition is 3 star at best. It’s all about Badminton and Burghley!
We’re on the waitlist too. DH was on their site a few minutes before the tours became available and STILL didn’t get a reservation. He’s pretty bummed. We may go there anyway for a self tour.
OH! I’ll tell him to try that!
If I don’t get a tour spot, I’ll do a self tour. Won’t do any sampling though. I don’t need to show up at the horse inspection with bourbon on my breath.
Never mind. Found the answer.
Last year a booth near Clever with Leather had amazing Rambo close outs (in size tiny and huge only of course), does anyone happen to recall who it was? They were right near CWL and Bliss Saddles, had a super busy booth and blankets were in big wire bins in the middle. Was hoping they’d be back this year, but can’t recall who it even was.
SmartPak is doing a course walk Friday with Ryan Wood and Boyd Martin. Register at the SmartPak website.
There are plenty of owners outside of the U.S. who emphasize the Olympics too. It’s been publicly stated multiple times that Banzai du Loir was purchased with a sole focus on getting to Paris, just to name one very high profile example.
The Olympics are much, much bigger than just a pathway to more funding - I think the vast majority of riders, owners, & team managers, no matter their nationality, would agree with that .
It was Jeffers Equine that had the deals. I picked up a show coat from them for $40, lol. I don’t think they’re on the vendor list for this year unfortunately (or at least I don’t remember seeing them).
I can’t find it, I keep getting an error message. Does anyone have a link?
I got it as an email which I deleted. I’m sure you could call them for more info and to register.
Less than a week out!! I’m updating the title to reflect a general Kentucky thread since we’ve started heading there anyway.
The first international horses are arriving today. https://www.facebook.com/reel/416124781138770
Let the fun begin!
MB is out of the 4* due to a minor tweak. I truly hope this is nothing and he’s back soon. He needs to be on that plane to Paris.
All of the maps are up with vendors listed now.
I was just looking at the site and noticed the livestream said won’t be available till April 25th. Won’t the jog be on the 24th? And it mentions watching it on ESPN. Wazzup with that?
Hope that MB injury is minor…but it is concerning as his age is a recovery factor. Riders are often cautious to reveal the extent of an injury…so I take Tamie’s explanation with that in mind. MB had several years history of being out for injury and it took a while for him to come back to form.
This has to be a serious concern for team selection. Team selections of older horses with an injury history for Championships has not always worked out for cross country day. Canada’s selection of Pavaroti comes to mind.
I was looking at that too. I clicked on the Explore Live Stream Options and got nothing. Why can’t the US events get this right. Burghley and Badminton are so easy to do and get set up for live stream. Right now you can go to the badmintton site and sign up for live coverage for about $25. The coverage will so much better than Kentucky.
