KEP helmet vs Charles Owen 4 Star Skull Cap

I’m the search for a new helmet. Have always been a Charles Owen girl but recently tried on the KEP “Cromo Jockey”. It fit great, is lightweight and I love the removable liner. In doing online research, the rather infamous Horse and Hound thread from 2015 popped up which then linked to the COTH forums.

Safety is my number one priority. I was told that these KEP helmets are the only ones on the market to meet “five safety standards”. I haven’t seen many of these helmets in the eventing world and am wondering if this is all a marketing ploy or if indeed they are safer than any other helmet.

If it is comfortable to wear you are more likely to wear it which automatically makes it a “safe” helmet. Is it the only brand with 5 certifications? Well, with a quick glance these seemed to be no more than any other hat with an international market. The unique feature is how much they customise the helmet. And the cost.
In the UK only jockey skull caps with no peak may be used xc but KEP does produce helmets without peaks too.
